Re: Matt's Montana Log
Training going really well despite having a headcold and it being unusually hot in Great Britain for the last month. I have 7 days left before I go on vacation for 3 weeks. @Hanley has slightly altered the standard 2 week MM cycle to allow me to go for PRs next week. Already since I have been with John I have hit PRs in bench (105kg), squat (157.5kg) and deadlift (160kg.) Hope to increase those numbers further next week.

Re: Matt's Montana Log
Thanks. Just hit a 162.5kg squat today. Felt strong. May be able to hit 170kg next week. Confident that a 4 plate squat will fall in next 6 months. 3 plate bench and 5 plate deadlift still a long way off, though.

Thurs 26 Jul
Deadlift Testing
Last deadlift session before vacation. Hit 3 PRs:
165 kg (2.5kg PR)
172.5 kg (another 7.5kg PR)
180 kg (yet another 7.5kg PR)
Delighted with the 4 plate deadlift. Could have actually lifted more, but didn't want to impact too much on squat testing day tomorrow. Prior to starting working with @Hanley 3 months ago my deadlift 1rm was 155kg at a higher body weight. The big increases in deadlift volume have really worked.

Re: Matt's Montana Log
Fri 27 July
Bench Testing
107.5kg (fail)
Very grindy but probably would have got it had it not got stuck on lift-offs just before lockout. So best bench in this cycle is 105.5kg (3kg PR)
Squat Testing
165kg (2.5kg PR)
170kg (another 5kg PR)
Very pleased with this, especially after the disappointment of the bench.
Now going on a 3 week vacation in Europe. May be able to lift for a few days in the second week. However, I don't really care; looking forward to chillin' with wife and kids. Will get back on it when I get back.

Managed to meet/exceed these targets, so I'm pleased.I have 5 weeks before I go on vacation in Europe. Aim is to stay in slight calorific surplus, hit a 105 kg bench, and 160kg squat and deadlift. Over the last 12 months, that would mean 25kg on my bench, and 60 kg on squat and deadlift.
