Hi.
Long time no see.
I bought a Rogue SML-1, Bella bar, and managed to get my hands on all of 20 kg worth of plates. Built a platform in my garage because... why not?
I figured this might be a good time to re-learn how to weightlift, but maybe properly this time.

Space looks nice.
My SML-1 has served me well.
Good luck with your weightlifting

How the heck have you been, Nanette? Good work tracking down the equipment! I guess plates are still hard to find though.
I hope the job, and everything else, is working out well for you! Do you have enormous magnets at home to work with during the scare? If you do, and if your plates are iron, 20 kg might be plenty after all!

Re: Nanette the Intermidiot
Lots of things have happened in the past whatever-amount-of-time-it's-been. Before this week, I hadn't lifted a goddamn thing except my body against gravity. Which can be pretty difficult sometimes!
Today I scored 2 sets of iron 45s and a weight tree for a very *very* reasonable price. They all weigh 45-47 lbs. Still would like to get safeties, a pull-up bar, a bench and some intermediate plates. Not sure what program I will put myself on (might not until I get more weight), but for now I'm just having fun going in and lifting a little bit every day since I got my gym put together on Tuesday. Working on my cleans right now.
The good news is: I can still squat 5 x 125 (sans belt) easily.
The bad news is: 265 (every single weight I have, including microplates) didn't break the ground, even with a belt on. At least now I have something to work towards...?

Gym Updates
After the site went down for a bit (A belated thank you to Marc for working so hard to get it back up!), I stopped checking to see if the forum was up & fell out of the habit of checking. I am very happy it's back up, hooray!
In between May 2 and now, I acquired a pair of spotter arms and a 20 kg bar. Today I ordered 10kg, 15kg, and 20kg Rogue HG 2.0 bumper plates. Had to pay for shipping because although the pairs are being sold, the sets (which include free shipping) are not being sold. A small premium to pay for something to help out my mental health, which to be quite honest, is mostly down the drain recently. Still no bench or small plates (2.5 or 5 lbs, or their kg equivalents), but I do have the set of fractionals I bought from Dan(? can't even remember the guy's name) back in Egypt. I'm going to write myself up a little program so I can be ready to go once these come in.
Mostly I've just been lifting whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like. My snatch and c&j are looking less bad, but they're still not at all pretty by anyone's standards.
I look forward to lifting in a more structured way once the new equipment arrives. I might even go so far as going to log the work here too...

I've gone full commie with my SI units. For now I'm avoiding knee sleeves and elbow sleeves as much as possible, but not necessarily my belt. As far as training goes, I will probably run a linearish progression for a short period, and then transition into something else. My hands are pretty beat up from my recent return to climbing, so weightlifting and deadlifts sans straps are out for now.
Low Bar Squats
5 x 70 kg @ 7?
2 x 5 x 70 @ 6?, 7? with belt
Overhead Press
5 x 5 x 16 @ too ez
2 x 5 x 20 @ 7, 8?
Deadlift with straps just because
3 x 5 x 80 @ 6, 7, 7
Things feel very difficult and heavy. Life is sort of settling back into a routine, although a slower paced one than before. I haven't stepped on the scale in months, but I would estimate I'm probably hovering around 60 kilos. Just need to keep chugging along!

OK, so maybe not too regular with my training...
In the morning, I had a rad gym climbing session, in which I wore a mask and had a fuckton of fun. In the afternoon, I lifted. I don't have change plates (kilo OR pound) yet, so I just threw on my various lb microplates for some sweet sweet LP increments. (:
Low Bar Squats with a belt
3 x 5 x 74 kg @ 6-7
Overhead Press no belt
10 x 5 x 17 kg @ 6-8
Deadlift no belt, but I used straps
3 x 5 x 84 kg @ 6-7
BW 60.8 kg
And then I did some planks, hollow holds, and push-ups.

I had another session in between (eh who cares)... but my change plates finally arrived!!! Decided to test my maxes and see where I'm at. Everything heavy belted, every heavy deadlift with chalk & mixed grip.
Low Bar Squat: 90kg @ 10; 3x5x 75 @ 6-7
Overhead Press: 37 @ 10; 3x5x 25 @ 7-8
Deadlift: 130 @ 10; 3x5x90 @ 6-7
I'd guess I have about 2-3 weeks on a linear progression type of program before I need to switch to something else. Given the Covid situation in the country, I'm back to not climbing so there's more time for lifting (:
