Jokes on them, I'm playing national anthems in triple time arpeggio this whole time!

Crush the Scots!
The slaves will get theirs!
Overthrow the tyrants and steal their breads!
Something something, these people!!

How much are you guys donating?

I wouldn't want to give like $5 and then find out later everyone was giving $30. I also wouldn't want to give $30 and find out everyone else was doing $5.

So we're clear, it is the latter I am much more concerned about.

Average donation is $512. Skewed by Meshuggah's contribution of course (hey Shug, I'm sure you're reading this).

I donated an unspecified but non-negligible amount of vegemite dollars and expect that to be formally recognised in the site's charter.

How much of a cut does PayPal take? I only gave a small amount, but if PayPal has a minimum fee that ate up half my donation I should probably do more. It might be helpful for other people to know this too.

I think the PayPal cut is minimal/zero.

Thanks to everyone who chipped in! We are actually going to put a hold on donations/take away the donation button for now. It would be wasteful to hold extra funds that we don't have use for right now. Hopefully the site will be self-sustaining after this kick start.

Should I just use your personal PayPal for the private shows?

Just do like wikipedia / PBS do. When you are out of money, put up a really annoying banner that says "hey we're out of money can we have some" and then take it down when you have what you need.
