Dear Exodus Members,

We are coming up on one month of the forum being online. Looking ahead, we are going to renew hosting for a year. Up until this point, we have covered all expenses with some donations from founding members.

Many of you have asked how to contribute. Here's your chance. Use the new "Donate" button at the top left of the screen (next to Quick links and FAQ) to make a donation via PayPal: Image

This site is being operated entirely as a volunteer-run nonprofit. 100% of funds collected beyond what is required to pay for hosting and domain fees will be put back into the site.

Thanks for any and all contributions!

For shared hosting (what we're on), it's $8.95/mo for a year. So, $107.40.

I chipped in. In what way can funds in excess of blah blah be put into the site? Gold plating on the urinals?

Much appreciated guys. Any donations in excess of just the hosting/domain costs go to keeping the site updated and maintained, new site design we're trying to work on, stuff in the grievances/suggestions thread, etc. We will definitely keep everyone updated as to where the donation money is going, when the site is being worked on (which, as we learned, can sometimes mean more downtime than we want), etc.

Thanks!

Potential uses for excess funds:
-Seed money for printing t-shirts (will be sold to fund the site)
-Site design
-Vbulletin software
-Dedicated hosting ($100/mo-ish, if we get to the point of having that much traffic)
-Administrative fees if we have to form a legal entity of some kind

We're working on doing that and improving the marital lives of our members.

When I suggested a donation option I didn't think you'd go through with it. This is incredibly awkward.....

Is there any way to donate anonymously? I am fine with getting a prepaid credit card for example, but I don't think that'll work. Will it? If not, I'm happy to send some cash via snail mail. If that method is acceptable, would one of the mods please PM me a mailing address? Thanks!

Dude, just keep dropping knowledge bombs with explanations that make it easier for sub-geniuses to have a better understanding and increased curiosity.
