Friday 12/2/22
6.6 mile walk
Haven't seen the turtle in a while. I'm starting to worry.

Low Hex Block Pull
1X3@292#
1X5@292#
2X6@292#

DB BP
5X12@40#

Weighted Pullups
6X6+28#

DB Stepups (20# per side)
1X5 (per leg)
1X6
1X7
2X8
I went light on the weight and weenie on the reps because I hate these.

Decline Pushups (feet on bench)
5X15 (minute rests)

Full Standing Ab Wheel
5X8

DB Curls
4X10@20#

I want to climb inside his greatcoat:

Your posts about music remind me of someone who would've performed at Tonic in NYC, but that may have been before your time.
I didn’t get to the NYC area until 2002, but I have fond memories of the Tonic. They closed before I got a chance to play there, but I saw some great concerts: Derek Bailey and Cyro Baptista, Marc Ribot and John Zorn. Crazy stuff.

Dick wrote a cosmic horror novel (lots of references to Blackwood’s “The Willows”) but then it got. . . Definitely one of the more creatively scatological things I’ve read in a while. I’ve found myself thinking of Lil Dougie, the Numpty, and the Archons.

I had never really checked out your log, but when I did, your description of this book piqued my interest. It was an excellent read, thanks for the recommendation! It sure sticks with you, and more questions pop up even days after finishing.

Also, those weighted pullups and standing abwheels... Impressive stuff.

Lastly, sometimes I'll go through old threads on the forum, and even my own log. I always enjoyed talking with your husband. I'm sad that he is gone, but I feel lucky to have interacted with him. He was interesting and unique, and I think those are 2 of the best things in the world.

Glad you enjoyed it. I found it wildly entertaining and admired the ambition, even if everything didn’t necessarily cohere. One thing I know for sure: Lil Dougie’s jerkin it.

And thanks for the kind words about Aaron. I know y’all enjoyed the occasional bromantic flirtation and often admired each other’s logs.

A ginger tabby let me pet him today. I tricked him by holding out a wet leaf like it was some kind of wonderful offering. I knew this ruse would likely work because of the adage I often see on IG: that all orange cats share one brain cell.

My pulling mojo is nonexistent lately.

L-Sit DB OHP
1X6@32.5#
5X5@32.5#

Started my new job this week, and our weekly in-office day was yesterday. It’s been 12 years since I’ve worked in an office  Meetings alllllll day, but everyone is very intelligent and working for a good cause and I’m going to learn a lot. But I’m fucking feral. By the end of the day I was wild-eyed and crazy and when I got to the parking garage I sprinted to my car.

Getting a reps PR with a deadlift in excess of 3x bodyweight is badass.

I was reading the weights without realizing you weight only about 100 pounds. Holy shit you're strong.

Thanks @hector but goddamnit, after I logged I realized it wasn't a PR, and I'd hit a double a month or so ago. Will have to try for a triple but it might kill me.

Thank you @CheekiBreekiFitness!

I had an intense dream. I was in “New York” (an NYC of the mind) and was being reluctantly pursued by a man who saw me daily when I walked by his restaurant; it was love at first sight, but he was fighting it. The dream wasn’t really about events but more about the dance, of seeing and being seen—as worthy, that recognition that comes only in the deepest romance. It was an overwhelming wash of all of the feelings of initial seduction before you succumb. Though a proud man, he eventually submitted. And that man was Weird Al Yankovic.*

*This is why I hate dreaming.
