Re: The Unforgiving Minute
Now begins the season I like to refer to as: "Falling Leaf, Hidden Dog Poop."
There have been some life issues recently. I was already pretty delinquent with training prior to the Life Issues[sup]TM[/sup], but it didn't help.
I'm feeling weak and flabby and considering I've lost weight without exercise I assume it was purely lean mass, replaced almost entirely by a larger volume of fat from beer and sloth.
I'd like more deliberate practice in my life and it seems like, while I can't fathom a meaningful practice routine for my job, I can at least implement one for lifting and guitar and I'd like to try. Again. I feel like a broken record...

Oh. Yeah. Log.
Mon:
Squat/chin, bench/chin
Tue:
Bench/chin, deadlift/dip
Also got decent guitar practice in this morning. Right now I'd like to learn how to play a decent cover of Calico Skies. Its a somewhat challenging finger picking song with unusual chords, but just two parts (a verse and a chorus), with two (minor) variations of each.

Re: The Unforgiving Minute
Wed:
Front squat, press, BB row
Guitar - Focused more on learning the chorus variations from the tutorial video I selected. They're not very different from each other, but I should probably pick one and hammer it in before worrying too much about the differences. I "know" the verse variations well enough, I just need to slow down and play them correctly before trying to play full speed (it feels like a quick song and it plays all the way up the neck from open strings to the 11th fret with a few slides from 2 to 11...). It's a fun song, coming along decently.

Re: The Unforgiving Minute
I don't think there are many good video tutorials out there for your obscure, fringe musical tastes.
Or are you referring to the time you made me crawl up the stairs while you were stretching your pelvic bowl in a pair of worn chaps on the landing?

Tue:
Bench / chin:
135 x 15 / BW x 10
[ 155 x 8 / BW x 8 ] x 3
Was thinking about deadlifting today but had an appointment shift from mid morning to mid afternoon and things didn't work out.
Guitar:
Getting the rhythm down is hard for me, especially making the transitions quickly enough while keeping them clean. I focused on getting the chords and transitions right at a much slower pace and it felt reasonably good.

Yeah, I'm doing well, man. I hope that the bolded above is not an indication that you must stop training sometime soon.

Oh, okay. The way you worded it made me think that you were dying of dysentery or something.
