S t a r t e d S t r o n g t h : Post-Novice Training

The past tense of Strength is S t r o n g t h

I started off my lifting journey doing Athlean-X programs starting in June pf 2017. Stopped in March of 2020. I sent Jeff Cavaliere way too much of my own money. From there I ran 5/3/1 for about 2 months, then tried Izzy's P2W program. Then I found Starting Strength, and, honestly, fell in love with it. Brought my lifts up pretty high.

Squat: 315x3 - 390x5, 405x1
Bench: 225x1 - 237.5x5
Press: 135x1 - 167.5x5
Deadlift: 405x1 - 420x5, 425x1

I then went on to try a 4-day TM, and it obliterated me. Then I found some of Andy Baker's work, and I loved it. Tried his Powerbuilding program, and it was awesome. My squat did, however, suffer.

Squat: 385x2 (I detrained a lot on the squat, only training it once a week)
Bench: 255x2x3 (All time best)
Press: 178x2
Deadlift: 419x2

I just switched over and am now doing The Bridge 3.0. I absolutely love it and RPE is changing my life. I'll be logging in my workouts from this post on out

I found too that after SS, my squat suffered. Took forever to get it back up again since I was used to grinding it 3x a week.

Good luck man

Bridge 3.0 W2D3

DL: 410x1@8, 372x4@8 (almost pooped myself lol. Damn preworkout), 332x4@6, 332x4@6
Floor press: 175x5@7, 185x5@8, 195x5@8.5, 185x5@8
Leg press: 295x10@7, 335x10@8 x3.

I was really happy with my deadlift today. E1RM is at 443, which is pretty cool. Today felt especially good because I got good sleep. God bless melatonin. Monday is gonna be awesome \m/

Bridge 3.0 W3D1

Comp Squat: 350x1@8, 315x4@7, 283x4 all @6. My squat is coming back. 378 E1RM. \m/

Comp Bench: 240x1@8.5, 215x4@8, 199x4@6, 199x8@8. I was supposed to do 3 sets of 4 at 199, but I was short on time and just did a set of 8. I don't think it's gonna affect me too much.

[I almost cut my workout short. I usually have 1.5 hours, and then I go home to my wife and baby. I was spotting A LOT of people today. I called my wife, and she was like "it's all good dude. Go work out!" I love her]

2 Ct. Pause DL: 290x5@7, 300x5@8, 310x5@9, 295x5@8 x2. 5x5 for pause DL seems like a lot, but I don't feel like crap so we'll see...
