Delusional. At age 40 I could run 1k in 3 minutes but did a half marathon in 83:40 (3rd in age group) so pretty much 21 four minute ks back to back. Do not see a cross shitter matching that

I think the crossfit total event will start at 1:50 EDT. (It doesn't look like they've finished assembling the lifting platforms though.

https://www.cbssports.com/crossfit/game ... 06-10acd4j

There were no bike pile ups on the bike race. A few people fell. One woman got injured and had to leave the games. A pedal broke on one of the bikes and a couple chains fell off. It wasn't a great day for Schwinn. . . .

The marathon isn't until 5:10 (CST). Some of these poor bastards will be rowing until 9:10.

I'm watching the total right now. Technique could be improved. Lot of jerking DL's off the floor and lots of hitching.

It's very strange. I would think if you made it to the games you would be a technician in the slow lifts.

Just watching the women so far, but a few of them are on track for almost 900lb totals. That's impressive. Especially given the short time they have to establish the totals and given the Crit and Muscleup already completed.

Yeah the strength levels are incredible. Like I mentioned earlier, I think the totals would be even higher if the technique was better.

No safeties, no spotters, and rain. One guy in the first heat was stapled and then slipped. It was ugly. His legs spread out and he landed on his knees.

That looked NASTY. I'm hope he's not hurt. I'd be so ticked if I was him..

Why is everyone (or, at least, all of the men I saw) squatting high bar?

Aesthetics. A2G. Easier to drop the bar to the ground on a failed attempt. Dunno.

This shit is like a complete circle of a stupid story:

-Glassman makes claim of dude pulling 700lbs using mainsite Rx

-Rip laff

-SS laff at Xfit being weak af

-SS make lifting fed using press

-SS displays mediocre strength overall in an untested federation

-Xfit has testing

-Xfit does a USSF total in 4 minutes as a comp

-Xfit women put up numbers the average male SS nutswinger can’t hit

-Cat-Backed Castro laffs all the way to the bank

-SS nutswingers can’t pull 500 after 3 years of training

Toomey has her lifts written on her arm. I guess she's used to thinking in KG and didn't want to have to figure it out with a ticking clock.

She's pretty exceptional, out lifting people a lot heavier.

I was surprised that Fraser only pulled 525. I guess that 500 posted on the athlete page wasn't that out of date. . . The guy who did 595 said that he messed up and should have done a clean 600. He said that he had never tested his deadlift 1RM before, so that was a PR. Nice. It was his chain that fell off during the bike race. Oh well.

If you need any more encouragement, this will make you want Toomey to win:

I would imagine it's just what they're used to. CF has a ton of Oly lifting.. And Oly peoples do high bar. Powerlifting for a max attempt is not big on their agenda, normally.

I get everything but these two points.

USSF is untested?

I have no doubt that there are other supplements going on here at the games. Anytime 1/2 a million is on the line there will be advanced chemistry.
