I think there's something to be said for the press 1.5 Michael Wolf advocated, where the first rep is 2.0 and the rest are TnG. Completely strict limits the weight a lot, so Tng press is natural to do with a little help on the first rep...

Any of them are fine. I like the 2.0, since it seems to create an uniform level of effort for my press. My strict press feels more difficult at the bottom third of the lift, and I end up missing weights that I could lock out if I could get past that point.
I had to experiment with my form to take advantage of the idea of 2.0, because trying it as described in the book wasn't working. You'll likely have to do the same.

The book doesn't explain it well. Tommy Suggs' video explains the movement well, imho. Everything else is "histrionics" it seems.rangerrick wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:30 am I had to experiment with my form to take advantage of the idea of 2.0, because trying it as described in the book wasn't working. Every time I look at SS3e I remember Mr Miyagi saying to Daniel-san, "bah, can't learn karate from book."
