Seppelt‘s investigations got Russia banned. The alleged perpetrator has had high level position for 50 years and he‘s ensured that the IWF system differs from all other sports and made sure worlds were in a banned country with tests done by his associates. Lost in translation: actually it’s His son who gets the 270k salary for a position he created for him. It can’t get worse.
Lydia and Spieß explain what it’s like for the clean, tested athletes: what are you gonna do, not compete?
Which country is the cleanest, ie. Who sucks the worst?

The thing about Thailand is interesting.
ex-Doper-Coach is current IWF vice President.
Team has had a dozen positives, all in one big chunk recently.
...so the "we took 'Y' and its out of your system in three days" didn't exactly work out did it.

ex-Doper is current technical director, but those IWF dudes are old.
But it works if the testing is swapped or rigged for hire like they did at Sotchi or in hungary for the IWF according to the docs. When the USADA tested at worlds, the caught a couple dozen. What I couldn't figure out was how her jaw got big, but didn't stay that way. Perhaps she just had excessive facial muscle hypertrophy.
I wonder if the IOC should just drop WL for 2020 now. It's so old fashioned and the whole change in weight categories for records, doping, transgender, judging and basic spectator boredom makes it hard to follow. That very prominent YouTuber from Ukraine just lost his medal, but like the goat from Georgia, nobody cares and they build up their following, rake in the fees for Patreon, coaching and clinic fees anyway. There are all these free-for-all new sports like CF, MMA. IDK.

Goodbye bronze: „The IOC told the Guardian it had set up an disciplinary investigation “to immediately follow up on the doping confession of Gulnoi and her entourage”.

#1- nice of them to put the photos of the 132 CJ that she bombed with..instead of her snatch medal lift(s).
I wonder if that was a conscious troll move or what.
#2-
yeah, I by no means saying its not a surprise that anabolic compounds have androgenic effects when used on females.Gulnoi said the drugs had given her a “jaw like a man and a moustache” but that “those responsible couldn’t care less about health”. She added that some girls in Thailand started doping when they were as young as 13 to prepare for national competitions.
But you (the girl here) were probably already fairly athletic to begin with to get into the Thai WL program to begin with....before they started giving you the sauce.
So going down that whole BBM "athletic spectrum thing" (IOW, PC talk for 'more masculine'): a lot of Asian girls will exhibit facial hair around puberty and adolescence. Not uncommon at all. Ask me how I know.
And as for the the jaw thing.... well kinda meh on that too.
She's by far not a prime example of "virilization"; I could point out much worse examples.

mostly ^ just a recap of the ARD documentary Lord of the Lifters.
The AllThingGym summation is pretty good if you don't want to read/watch that whole thing.
I doubt IWF would 'lose' Toyko, probably 2024 Paris is in jeopardy.
Good thing could come from this.

Although this part of the Talender Sr.'s article was interesting (last line):
wikipedia:"I’ll never forgive nasty little Irish swimmer and now-disgraced Olympic gold medalist Michelle Smith de Bruin for trying to sue me for writing in the Sun-Times that she was a doper. Thankfully, that ended after she ‘‘peed’’ an out-of-competition urine sample that was mostly Irish whiskey."
Two years after the 1996 Summer Olympics, FINA banned Smith for four years for tampering with her urine sample using alcohol.[5][6] She appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Her case was heard by a panel of three experienced sports lawyers, including Michael Beloff QC. Unusually for a CAS hearing, Smith's case was heard in public, at her own lawyer's request.[7] FINA submitted evidence from Dr Jordi Segura, head of the IOC-accredited laboratory in Barcelona, which said she took androstenedione, a metabolic precursor of testosterone, in the previous 10 to 12 hours before being tested. The CAS upheld the ban.
She was 28 at the time, and the ban effectively ended her competitive swimming career. Smith was not stripped of her Olympic medals, as she had never tested positive for any banned substances.

^That article says Ursula is "president of USA Weightlifting." Such a weird claim. USA Weightlifting doesn't have a president, and I don't think she currently holds any office/position regardless.

From usaweightlifting.org
„Garza Papandrea has served an integral role in the decade-long reform of USA Weightlifting as a member of our Board of Directors since 2009 and as Chair since 2016.“

Unless USA Weightlifting's own website is out of date (quite possible), Ursula is not even on the Board of Directors, let alone Chair. Notice the site says, "The USAW Board as of January 23, 2019."
