Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
Idk which brand/type that is in stock, but things to consider
Pad width
Overall height (most adjustable benches are tall)
Pad gap (if used for flat benching)
Feet (preferably tripod style)
Adjustment (ladder style is least stable)
Weight (heavy is sturdy, but too heavy is hard to move)
Not in stock, but I would believe the Ironmaster bench would be a strong contender
https://www.ironmaster.com/products/super-bench-pro/
Outside of that, it seems everyone likes the Rep adjustable benches
This guy is in stock on Amazon right now for $300

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
In-stock? Good luck. I'd say either wait for Rep/Rogue to restock or dig up some cash and order a made-to-order one.

Whats your local CL/FB marketplace look like? Used commercial adjustable can still be had at OK prices if you look hard enough.

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
I messaged a guy on CL for a Rep bench (AB-3000?) I think. He was asking $100 over retail (350). I guess I'll see if he gets back to me. I made an offer on CL for a Legend Fitness one last week (dude wanted 850). I offered him 600 with the expectation of some haggling. I never got an email back and now it is gone.murphyreedus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 6:54 am In-stock? Good luck. What is funny is now there is all kinds of used bars to be had. But know I don't need them. A few months ago when I was looking for a bar their was not shit on the used market.

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
Thanks for the suggestion. That bench has way to many 1's (14%). Reviews say only a 600lb capacity even though it is listed for 1000 and lots of wobbly reviews. I ordered a flat utility bench from amazon. It was not that cheap and it freaking sucks and is wobbly as hell.gtl wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 5:01 am Idk which brand/type that is in stock, but things to consider

I just want a good solid adjustable bench that can be used when there is a hold up on the normal bench. And maybe for incline and flys

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
It's definitely painful. A year ago a nice adjustable bench would sit on my local market for weeks if it was north of $300. I have seen an uptick in affordable equipment popping up, but you have to drop everything and go get it right that second or it's gone.zappey1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 7:53 amI messaged a guy on CL for a Rep bench (AB-3000?) Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
I have one of these. Not sure what Legend's order fill time status is, but they make everything to order anyway. Not the cheapest, or the easiest to move around the gym even with the wheels, but it's big time sturdy.

I would like to stay under 600. But if nothing shows up in the next few weeks I might have to order the custom.AdamSkillin wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:27 am I have one of these. Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
I’ve had mine a few years, but even with the shipping I think I paid a little under $600 direct from Legend. Re-sellers all tend to be a little marked up in my experience.zappey1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 2:29 pmI would like to stay under 600. Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
This might be the one. I just heard back from Legend they want 610 plus shipping. Which depending on what they say might push it out of budget.FredM wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 8:29 am No experience with his benches but I love Edge in general and my SSB:

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
Ordered this one today! Price was cheaper and shipping was cheaper. And it looked very comparable to Legend.FredM wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 8:29 am No experience with his benches but I love Edge in general and my SSB:

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
That’s awesome. Can’t wait to see your thoughts on it. From what I know of Edge, I’m confident you’ll be happy with your choice. Next step is to set a bunch of PR’s to justify the expenditure!zappey1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 5:46 pmOrdered this one today! Price was cheaper and shipping was cheaper. Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
I don't think it will replace my fixed flat bench but maybe? I need it for accessory work maybe some warm up sets if the fixed bench is busy. I have another non adjustable bench and it is freaking wobbly AF! I had an adjustable fixed bench bench but sold it because it was wobbly and sucked for inclines. Constantly I would hit the brackets.AdamSkillin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 5:58 pmThat’s awesome. Can’t wait to see your thoughts on it. I guess I might get some PR's on incline. I'll keep you posted. Might not ship for 6 weeks

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
Awesome! I’ll probably join you near Christmas and replace my terrible Fitness Gear adjustable. (Have a rep FB 5000 for flat, but wanna start doing more incline work in hypertrophy blocks)zappey1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 5:46 pmOrdered this one today! Price was cheaper and shipping was cheaper. Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
I’m hoping on the incline gain-train. I really dig my Edge SSB. No Doubt this is a great well built piece of equipment. But there is not many photos and the description says there is only 4 positions?
I’m comparing this to some of the options from Rep. which full decline sounds neat too, but I’d still bet Edge had a more stable bench.
Edit: can this replace my rogue utility flat bench for all my flat benching needs? Don’t know if I want to keep two benches around.

Re: Adjustable bench recommendations?
All things being equal (stock/price), if you don’t have issues buying Chinese manufacturered equipment, Rep is probably the way to go. I personally have their fb 5000 and love it. I know multiple people with the ab 3000+ and other than the seat gap rave about it.MPat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 1:42 pm I’m hoping on the incline gain-train. I really dig my Edge SSB. That said I’d personally go with Edge because I’d rather support us manufacturing when possible and I don’t need it to replace my fb or adjust more than 30/60/90

I can probably with with the 30/60/90, are you saying this is not a suitable replacement for a flat bench?FredM wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 2:23 pmMPat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 1:42 pm I’m hoping on the incline gain-train. I don’t have much experience with inclines, other then using one at a Globo gym here or there. So one bench to handle all my benching would be cool.
