Lost a drive due to a reboot? I dunno
lvm busted
tried pvremove missing
lvm has to be recreated
awesome 10 tb of movies and tv music GONE
Fuck computers
(don't tell me I should have backed up. Obviously. But the cost to have a spare 10tb at the time was prohibitive. I've even lost drives before. Fucking hell of course NOW is when shit breaks. )
FML
gonna be rebuilding this shit all night and fixing content for kiddo.

Is it worthwhile just buying this much space on the cloud?

Re: lvm is the worst
Believe it or not I did research this awhile ago. The problem is getting it to and from the cloud. I don't recall what the cost was per TB but glacier and the slow backblaze(pane?) whatever it's call was also more than I wanted.mgil wrote:Is it worthwhile just buying this much space on the cloud?
Ideally I would retire my server and get a qnap and do something like 6 drives, 3 mirrors and string those together.
But that's kinda spendy
500$ for the qnap and then whatever per drive depending n the size. say 100$ a drive for 3tb per? so i could end up with 9tb mirrored. which would match what i want for 1100$
I need to pay off(stop buying) the new home gym first.
(btw: media rebuild is at 304gb down since last night; and that's only content for kiddo)
