Floor press pads

Bands, chains, wraps, straps, racks... are you sure this is training related?

Floor press pads

#1

Post by DanCR » Thu Nov 26, 2020 12:45 pm

I’ll spare y’all the long explanation, but in my current coronapocalypse set up, benching isn’t possible, but floor pressing is, with some effort. I’m a reasonably big guy for my height but do not have a barrel chest, and so the ROM stops with the bar nearly half a foot off. I’d like to (at least somewhat) remedy that with a floor press pad. Suggestions as to a particularly good one? I’ve found a number online, but am not sure how to gauge quality in the context of what’s essentially just something on which to lie.

Can you just use a replacement top from Titan or Rep?

I believe most of the crash pads are made by the same Chinese company, hence Titan is as good as any probably. The original pound pads are out of business, I think, so you are left with all the clones. Rogue's do kind of look nicer, shipping would be cost prohibitive most likely.

I would get a horse stall mat, cut it into six (4x1 foot) pieces, and stack them to your desired height.

What about just some cheap lumber and a folded towel?
