Re: Sup
Other than the few symptoms that I mentioned at the time, which didn't occur again, I was (as far as I know) completely unscathed by covid. My wife, on the other hand, still is sick, weeks later. It's been a nightmare. I mention this by way of saying: do not get this thing. I understood the mindset, when a vaccine was a pipe dream, of not being able to stay home forever. Now that it's apparently on the way, though, seriously: stay the fuck home and take care.

I've just had a normal cold and it's sucked balls. Good reminder to stay careful....

Yep.
Power outage.
Heavy wet snow and wind.
heard the neighbor's trees cracking when i was out earlier clearing the drive.
I have a feeling this one may be longer than a few hours.
Plenty of gas for the genny, and it has fresh oil.

Re: Sup
6 to 10 inches of snow called for for tomorrow, with maybe an inch tonight.
i'll be burning some extra calories dealing w/ that.
Really glad volume squats are out of the way, and a lower rep session will be Sunday.
Bench and dips tomorrow are easier to work around.

Man, you get all the fun. We finally got some snow and we busted our sled the second day, and they're sold out down here, so the only highlight was me missing my wife with a snowball and accidentally hitting the kid perfectly in the face to cause scratches all over his nose. I just told everyone he was doing a Star Trek cosplay.Wilhelm wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:24 pm 6 to 10 inches of snow called for for tomorrow, with maybe an inch tonight.

Turns out throwing snowballs is against the rules here.

Re: Sup
Conditions dictate i clear the slushy snow now before things freeze up.
Just gonna take it easy to stay fresh for squats.
Thankfully it iisn't a huge amount that fell.
Not insignificant though.
Can't ignore it or the drive will become a skating rink.
Le sigh

I wish the winter would be over soon. The older I get, the more I dislike winter.

Tuesday snowstorm forecast to dump 7-11 inches daytime.slowmotion wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 12:56 am I wish the winter would be over soon. The older I get, the more I dislike winter.
Rest day just got a little less restfull.
Snow continuing overnight and into deadlift day.
Le sigh
Hopefully that timing holds steady.
I can clear most(?) of it as it falls on rest day.
I still dislike hot and humid more.
At least the cold i can get away from inside.
And i actually like going out in the cold.
Also, no bugs.
So far winter has been good this year, with few heavy snowstorms.

Re: Sup
Winter > Fall > Spring > Summer.
Been a pretty lame winter so far in WI. Barely gotten below 0, like 7" total of snow in January including a couple inches we got Saturday night. The bright side has been that my town started maintaining a good-sized skating rink on one of the ponds 2 minutes from my house, so I've gotten my son out skating probably 10x in the last couple weeks. He has gone from "baby horse learning to stand" to "I look like I play peewee hockey" and it's been pretty fun to watch. The town didn't clear the rink off yesterday, so I got some good cardio in shoveling it off, and am sore enough today that lifting should be pretty fun.

Saving grace of this blizzard is the snow is light and fluffy so far, so the wind is blowing it off the roof.
I won't have to deal with that whole other category of work.
I just wish it wasn't getting above freezing tomorrow.
Tomorrow is deadlift day, and the snow is continuing overnight.
The temps mean i have to deal with it tomorrow as well to avoid the dreaded melt/refreeze situation.
Today is my rest day, amd i've been out once already for an hour and a half clearing everything.
Snow total predictions are fluctuating, hopefully they turn out on the lower end.
