Titan MAXXUM STAINLESS STEEL POWER BAR
Shouldn't this bar be 29mm? I asked Titan directly after they introduced the bar, no response and no one else seems to have commented on the odd diameter. It has been on sale a couple times since being introduced a few months back, which leads me to believe they fucked up the specs and no one wants one.

To be faiiiiirrrr I think the Titan has stainless sleeves too... a feature that will run you an extra $75 from Rogue... plus factor in Rogue shipping...Wilhelm wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 11:35 am It's essentially the same damn price as the stainless OPB

Even if all that is correct 28mm is weird.

Re: Titan MAXXUM STAINLESS STEEL POWER BAR
I dunno, man.
The sleeves on my plain steel OPB look great after over 4 1/2 years.
Even if the Titan were 29mm, the OPB is the clear choice from over here.

Re: Titan MAXXUM STAINLESS STEEL POWER BAR
Rogue OPB SS is better, no doubt but it is a lot more expensive and (at least was) very hard to come by since Covid. This bar has been as low as 319.99 which is a pretty good deal provided it was 29mm. I don't get it and I can't believe no one else has talked shit about it on social media.

Would you want the bar to be 29mm so that it's more rigid, doesn't bend when squatting?

Re: Titan MAXXUM STAINLESS STEEL POWER BAR
@hector
29mm is regulation for IPF and USAPL
Probably some other feds too.
But yeah, there would be more whip w/ a thinner bar.
RPS does squat bar and DL bar.
I'm not even sure what they use for bench lol.
iirc, the squat bar is 30mm or even 31, and the DL bar is 27.

Rogue makes a Squat Bar that is$450 and 32mm. I kind of wonder what it would be like to Squat with, but don't care enough to spend $450 to find out.

plus its weird that is only has PL marks/rings.
And brass bushings...which is totally fine. But 28mm is usually and Oly thing.
And the ad at the top: "The MAXXUM Stainless Steel Power Bar is a barbell explicitly built for functional fitness athletes."
So OK. I'm thinking 28mm stainless X-fit bar for WODs done outside or something? Its fine ... Gucci bar material but budget bar otherwise.
Then the description states: "The MAXXUM Stainless Steel Power Bar is marked for the experienced powerlifter."
Specs show PL only rings/markings? wtf?

Re: Titan MAXXUM STAINLESS STEEL POWER BAR
I know some(many)one(s) working for Titan Fitness is familiar with CrossFit, Olympic lifting and powerlifting - I don't see how this bar gets through development...I am not even sure who they copied otherwise... Perhaps someone is making a 28mm powerlifting/WOD bar with pl only markings.mbasic wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 5:29 pmwhat wilhelm said, hector wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 5:17 pmThanks, Wilhelm!Wilhelm wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 4:42 pm @hector
