Just came across a shorty T-2 on the craigslist. I can unrack a squat off of it if I’m careful of my head position, but would love to have the whole thing a little taller, so I’m thinking of modding it.
Option #1: cut 2-3 layers of stall mat the same width as the foot. Attach stall mat to rack’s foot with copious amounts of gorilla tape.
Option #2: same, but with 2x4 studs
Option #3: use 4x4, but cut a groove into the 4x4 to fit the rack foot. Probably still use gorilla tape...
Option #4: follow the infinitely better advice provided by fellow Exodusians
Options #5+: shrink, only use it for bench, resell it, pile it in the basement to rust etc.

I assume you don't need much extra height. I'd go with wood, it'll be a little less squishy than stall mats. Best pet is probably to drill larger holes in the shoes and lag screw through those into the platform (platform right?).

Framing some 2x4s in two layers to trace out the foot is what I think I’d do and the lag them down, if possible.
