Oh.... if he's just lifting at home, well, that's great.
What I hate, is knowing what you and I know, and then these kids are thrown into a school weights program .... and well, you can imagine what happens under crappy supervision and guidance. If he's lifting/learning at home under you, he'll get better instruction.
....it took a while for mine boy to control his back. I say that, but he's more doing something closer to a clean-deadlift than a straight perfectly midfoot-start-hip-really-high deadlift. He has to start with his hips a tiny bit lower than 'the model' to be more sure about his back.He can’t control his back well when pulling but he can when squatting. It’s helping his jump though
He still can't do a decent looking RDL.
I would think squats would help in basketball more then deads anyway.
