Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
2/19/22
Bodyweight 186.5# (I puked my guts out again last night)
Press 135x5x5
Bench 225x4x8
Assault Bike x10:
0:20 work
1:40 rest
-32.49 Cal/work minute
About halfway through these intervals I felt like I was gonna puke again, so I had to back off a bit on the second half. Still got a decent work average.
Musings: I only check the mail like once a week because who cares. There were some invitations to a neighbor kid’s birthday party, which started 5 minutes ago. Whoops. #accidental winning

I have fallen into the very same habit lately, likely spurred by a similar attitude, so this gave me my first genuine laugh for the day.

Squat 315x4x5
GHD Ham Raise 3x5
Assault Bike
20:00@EZ
-10.0 Cal/work minute
-56 rpm
Calf raises
Cable crunches
Ring muscle up x1 (first time)
I gotta start working on the rhythm of kipping.

This is the same family that shoehorned the husband’s birthday into the neighborhood 4th of July party.
Thanks! It sure felt like a big deal (even though I haven’t really been working on it [which sounds like an annoying humble brag, but I’ve had a lot of irons in the fire lately])

Bench 315x3@10. Yuck. I’m just coming back from an illness, I haven’t benched heavy in ages, and I just finished a cut, so it’s no surprise my bench is in the toilet. But still, yuck.
245x5x5
Upright Row 95x3x18
Assault Bike x2:
8:00 work
2:00 rest
-58-59 rpm
-12.04 Cal/work minute
Arm blaster curls
French press
Musings: My knees have been feeling better, so I think I’ll pepper in a little more CrossFit stuff. I’ll continue using the Assault Bike for conditioning, maybe dedicate 15 minutes to skill work, and rotate the Olympic lifts into my scheme.
Guess I’ll never get my bench back.

Deadlift 405x7x2
Landmine Row +100x3x18
Assault Bike x5:
1:00 work
5:00 rest
-22.88 Cal/work minute
-74-76 rpm
I’ve done this workout three times now. Each time a little faster. It’s definitely a top contender for most uncomfortable interval scheme.
No accessories. I feel sleepy like after sex but also nauseated like after anaerobic intervals.

@JFick I looked up those gymnastics holds… good night, sweet bicep tendons. Especially that Maltese nonsense.

Bodyweight 187.0#
Worked a bunch during the last 48 hours; day and night. Ate donuts and nachos yesterday. Was able to sleep in a little today.
Press 165x3
185x1
195x0 Cool.
115x5x8
Assault Bike x24:
0:30 work
0:30 rest
-17.26 Cal/work minute
-70…64 rpm
Musings: Piss poor workout. Central governor be governin’

CF Open 22.1
15:00 amrap
-3 wall walk
-12 DB snatch (50#)
-15 box jumpovers
177 reps @ruffstuff
I started a little hot, but not terribly so. I’m curious if I’d get a better score if I slowed down a little and stayed more consistent. The answer is almost certainly “yes,” but it’s my first Open and I probably won’t even be able to complete one of the next workouts so who cares.

Bench 275x5x3
Squat 355x1,
285x6x6
Assault Bike
9:00
-58-60 rpm
-12.66 Cal/work minute
Face pull
Cable curl
Trice pushdown
Musings: I’ll be running Hanley’s 12-session program for bench, squat, and deadlift. Took a big deload on the squat (for knees) and used my piss poor 3RM bench from last week for an e1RM. This gives me plenty of room for progress (and not get frustrated).
I want to start practicing the Olympic lifts again, so tentatively I’ll be doing Hanley every other session, with quick lift practices in between?

Snatch Practice
Followed along this video with an empty bar:
Then all the movements again with 65#.
Then snatch 95x3x2, pausing at the bottom.
Assault Bike

-8.79 Cal/work minute
-52-54 rpm

Clean and Jerk practice
95x3x2
115x2x2
135x2x2
Pretty sure I have a meniscus tear. Planning to talk to an ortho doc soon.
Chins BW+53x6x6
Ring Dip BW+53x 4, 4, 6.
Assault Bike x8:
0:30 work
2:30 rest
-84-80 rpm
-12.48 Cal/work minute
Worse than last time (just barely, and my knee hurts, and I worked today, and I’m mentally down in the dumps about my knee)

To be faaaiiiir, I’m probably just being dramatic and there’s nothing really going on.
Alternatively; knee cancer.

Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
Sorry to hear that, man. Have you had one before? Are you speculating from experience? Hope it's nothing, like maybe you're just old and frail now?
