Bodyweight 189.0#
Bench 255x9x5
Deadlift 405x6x2
A few ring muscle ups; because they were practicing them (but no one could do them) in the class, and the class was over, and my vanity knows no bounds.
Assault Bike x8:
2:15 work
0:45 rest
-60rpm
-13.04 Cal/work minute
Interesting that I’ve done the same rpm/calorie rate for the past 3 workouts

Bench 295x7x2
Squat 335x7x2.
Knees feeling a little better. Hopefully I can regain some strength.
Assault Bike x3:
6:00 work
1:00 rest
-59-60rpm
-12.69 Cal/work minute
Cable Curls
Tricep Pushdowns
Musings: Doc had me drop my Clomid dose to half a few weeks ago with instructions to recheck T level after 6 weeks. I'm feeling low now, but I actually started getting symptoms back during the last month on a full dose. I'm tired all the time. Low motivation. Irritable. Low libido. Mental fog... Super fun times.

Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
@JFick I talked to an ortho doc. He agreed there isn’t much that can be done about generic patellar pain on the left. And he said the right side (with the clunking) sounds like it could be meniscal.
Next course of treatment would be MRI, then arthroscopy based on the findings.
Of course, after finally decreasing my workout volume, both knees are better. But still not great.
My plan is to set extra health savings money aside in the next fiscal year (starts in July) for the MRI and possible surgery. The doctor said it probably won’t explode if I delay diagnosis and treatment.

Bench 315x5@10. Last time I only got 3 reps, so… progress.
Squat 385x1@8.5? Really hard to rate with the knee stuff. No significant pain today, but it doesn’t feel “right” and I’m super tentative on the eccentric.
295x4x5
Ring MU 4x1, 1x2. For funsies. Also no failed reps and it was the first time I strung together a double.
Musings: I’ll keep repeating the Hanley 12 session template until it stops working. I used a low ball squat number for the template, and used the lower end of volume. Maybe I won’t add any weight to the squat but try to increase the volume?

Bench 225x 10, 9, 9, 14@10
Deadlift 425x2x1
495x1@10?
I’ve been trying to keep my lats engaged for deadlifts, and video replay shows my center of gravity shifting really far backwards on that heavy single.
I think that’s me trying to “keep the bar back” vs “engaging the lats.” It made the lift really weird and slow and I’m not too worried about it.
405x8x1
Assault Bike
10:00 Max Calorie
-60-62 rpm
-13.36 Cal/work minute
-best 10:00 trial so far despite having a cold and crappy deadlift session.
Cable curls
Tricep pushdowns
-Why can’t we have an arm pump all the time?

Been working a lot. And I’ve been exhausted even when working a medium amount. Stupid low T. I can’t wait to get rechecked in 2 weeks.
Bench 285x5x3, 1x6@8
Squat 365x1@EZPZ. Really solid rep; much better than last week’s 385. More better than can be ascribed to being 20lbs less weight. For your sentence structure.
290x5x6. Should’ve done more, but reasons.
Assault Bike
12:00
-57 rpm
-10.33 Cal/work minute
This was not prescribed, but I didn’t have the energy for anything long or hard.

Musings: I plan to change the broken torsion springs on my garage door today, and it’s a little intimidating. If you don’t hear back from me, know that I died doing what I loved (saving money).

Assault Bike
18:00 @54-55 rpm,
7 second sprint every 4 minutes
-10.56 Cal/work minute
This is a new one. Felt hungry for the first sprint, recovered for the second, lagging on the third, and dead after the fourth. Seems appropriate. Not being able to stop after the sprints is really something.
Armblaster curls
French press
Musings: I did not end up dying in a freak garage door torsion spring accident yesterday, and the door is working great.

Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
got real nervous with the first note, glad you pulled it off successfully. my dad almost lost an eye to a garage door spring when he was younger. i forgot the exact sequence of events but i know it blasted him right in the cheek, loosened a tooth. things are no joke lol, easily could die if things go awry....

I believe that about your dad. Winding those springs feels like spinning the handle of a very dangerous Jack-in-the-box.JFick wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:44 amgot real nervous with the first note, glad you pulled it off successfully. my dad almost lost an eye to a garage door spring when he was younger. i forgot the exact sequence of events but i know it blasted him right in the cheek, loosened a tooth. things are no joke lol, easily could die if things go awry....
I was slow and deliberate with the process, never taking my mind off the task at hand.

On a related note, I recently took some "before" pics of this cut I'm on. They were so terrible that I deleted them. Later that day, I went to Target to buy some new plain t-shirts. In the dressing room, they had like three mirrors, and the view was much more flattering. It may be just the nice lighting in the Target dressing room, but I'm not as flabby as I think I am.

Re: For Your Health (a hunk's log)
I honestly think most of us have borderline body dysmorphia. I think it was @EricK that was talking about seeing 2 year old pictures of yourself and thinking “that guy looks pretty good.” But at the time, you thought you looked terrible.alek wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:42 amTease.broseph wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:05 am Braggadocio: I was browsing Instagram and saw a pic posted from my gym, and I was like, “who is that super jacked dude?!? Novel angles and tricking yourself into thinking it’s actually a picture of someone else (a difficult process to replicate) gives you the chance to actually be objective and admire your progress.
We’re all gonna make it.

Yeah. I feel like I look like a skinny wimp at 187 lbs and look like a fat slob at 194 lbs. Neither are probably true.
