I love the caption under the photo. Maybe the Internet isn't so bad after all.
"The world's crappiest bond villian".

Wow. It's actually happening.
I feel like we should invite Elon to post here. Could be fun?

I don't have a Twitter. Never got the appeal. Why is Musk taking it over better/worse than whatever it is now?

Re: Fifty 420
It isn’t. The appeal of Musk is the same as the appeal of Trump: a rich Daddy who will make everything better by making everyone one dislikes suffer, and also by doing undefined “cool things.”
The fascination with him among men my age (40s), on both sides of the political spectrum, makes me want to punch a wall with my face, repeatedly and with running starts.

One of the nicest things about life post-2021 is not having to hear/read about what DT was twittering about. Hope that doesn’t change.

Seeing the insufferable suffer is exactly the appeal of Twitter. We are reaching Rittenhouse Verdict levels on the Twitter Cope-ometer this week.

Does the sale matter one way or the other?
Tech billionaire buys tech company from other tech billionaires. Wgaf?
I think the story just has so many click bait terms that every publication is compelled to report on it.

Re: Fifty 420
The upshot, Musk makes an out of the blue offer that may or may not be serious, stock is at $46. Bought in, because the lunatic fringe offer is $54.20 a share and people are nuts. It immediately goes to $49 based on an obvious pot reference bid number, then crest $50 before dropping back today after it is all official and actually going to happen. So, if you bought some at $46, all you have to do is wait and Elon is going to give you $54.20 for those $46 shares. After that, who cares what happens to the company. Musk brings instability, which is really good for trading stocks.

Re: Fifty 420
This is probably a weird reference, but back in the 90s, it was a really big deal when a new word processor came out. Word, Word Perfect, etc. The reviews always had a big section on word counting and justification. Those features were completely meaningless to most users, but they were absolutely critical to the 'journalists' writing the reviews. So they covered them in great detail. And software companies put a lot of work, effort, and money into developing those features, not because their users wanted it, but rather because the reviewers did.
Twitter is the same way for "news" journalists. Twitter is the never ending source of easy story material. Writers block? Going on vacation? Burnt out from actual investigative journalism? Just write a "Hey! Look what this person tweeted!" story. It's the "OMG, airports sure are busy!" story on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
If there is a disturbance in the Twitter, millions of journalistic voices will suddenly cry out in terror and then suddenly be silenced. They fear something terrible is about to happen. Real Journalism

Did not know that about word processers in the 90's!!!!
If journalists are unhappy with whatever new form Twitter takes, how hard would it be to just start a new platform? I wouldn't be surprised if someone was prepping or repurposing a new product for exactly this circumstance.

Look at truth social; it's a ghost town even though the founder was/is a very popular personality.
