I love when I'm sitting on the toilet with the door locked and a kid comes and absolutely reams on the handle because apparently they forget that locks exist?

Forgot to set my alarm this morning, or more accurately I thought it was set for Mon-Sat but it was only set Mon-Fri, so nap time session. Lower box jumps because reasons, so I added a rep per set.

No locks on any of the interior doors, so I put hooks at least on the bathrooms and they are up too high for the kids to reach, we really only use them with company anyways. Our bigger problem are the shitty spindles they sell everywhere getting stripped and the handles falling off. It's pretty much once every 2-3 months I need to replace one somewhere, hopefully when it falls off the spindle comes with you on the knob, otherwise you end up getting stuck in the room with a handle in your hand and no way to open the door.

Good. Had a bit of motivation today- my family was over yesterday and I overheard my cousins kid say he squats 250. He's a senior I think, time is weird, plays varsity lacrosse and wrestling. Need to keep my squat above his, never mind I weight probably 50lbs more.

Accidentally did 2 extra volume sets of bench, I looked at the count for my last high intensity session instead of my last volume session, so while I got 12 with 165 last volume session I only did 27 reps, while today I did 35 reps with +2lbs.

Good session. OHP continues to blow chunks, probably need to shut down the ego and cut the weights way back, which I have been saying all along, but...

Not at all sold on the squat jumps. I just want something "athletic" but I don't really have a place or way to do throws, and cleans suck. One arm DB snatch?

Kids: both kids have had low-level coughs for something like 8 weeks, it feels like nonstop. Getting worse for both, younger staying home today, not sure about the older one. Very annoying, stressful, and frustrating.

Other life: 2019 I think my brother and I got each other tickets for the Run the Jewels & Rage concert in Detroit in 2020. I think those dates are right. Anyways, Covid blew that, they rescheduled for 2023, and news just came out yesterday that they are canceling all their remaining tour dates because Zach tore his Achilles. The concert that just wasn't supposed to be, I suppose. So now I think we are going to get matching Adidas track suits and go to a fancy steakhouse together.

Also: 40 degrees outside and I literally have to follow my wife around closing windows behind her. She will turn the heat up to 69, then open all the windows. "I'm cold but I want fresh air."

Good and bad. Some solid increases on intensity- 75x3 felt good. Lost groove last rep of 60lbs. Farmer felt good, but couldn't "close" it by walking it all the way (~40y) back inside after the 6 sets. Pull up felt good, but couldn't get my chest to touch on rep 11 of the second set. Slept well, I think, but stress is high- little one home yesterday, cough is getting worse so probably not sending the little one to my parents, etc.

5yo cried most of the morning because the 2yo touched his old, deflated, wrinkled balloon, then because we wanted him to walk to school because he kept pulling the blanket off the 2yo in the stroller. Meanwhile the 2yo was crying because he wanted to walk. 5yo won't walk, 2yo won't ride in the stroller, everybody crying. What a fun morning.

Good session, especially considering non-gym stuff.

2yo was up around 4, I think, with my wife, coughing. I went downstairs at 5:30 to get ready/work out but he was still up, so we swapped and she went back to bed while I stayed up with him until around 7:30 when I got him back into bed. My throat was hurting a bit last night, seems to be a little better now but congestion still sticking around.

Good session again, especially considering below. Got really sweaty, hit decent numbers for me, got a lot done. Plus, lever belt feeling a tad loose on the last set of hooks, so I might actually need to move the screws for real this time.

Going to do my best to ignore previous session weights and go with what I have on the day. To that end, I plan on hitting top singles followed by volume at around 75% trying a little more to keep things hard but not @10.

Currently on the 1200mg guaifenesin and 240mg pseudoephedrine plus my normal 10mg loratadine. Major congestion this morning. Sleep was OK, either I was too tired or the little one didn't need to come downstairs from coughing last night, which is a good sign for daycare, likely tomorrow. Not sure what to do about Lego club tonight, if little one is home I can't bring him and I defo can't leave him home alone, so I can't help coach so I might bring the older one home instead of sending him? Other two coaches have been out one day each the last two sessions and still sent their kids, so I shouldn't feel bad about sending mine anyways but still, sick-time nap schedule for the little one over the weekend overlaps school pickup time...

Upon opening my email to send a message to the older one's teacher, I find out someone has gotten into my netflix account and my old amazon account. Amazon doesn't really matter, the CC there is expired, but Netflix is current. Also, that used the old password we had for basically everything, which I had been changing but clearly not quickly enough. So add "checking all my accounts and changing a bunch of passwords" to my lost of things to do.

In addition, looks like they are doing tree trimming right outside my house. Little one is supposed to go down for nap 12:30-1ish, I'm hoping they are either done with the woodchipper by then or are doing a "cut a bunch, come back for the chopper later" plan...

Little slower on the Echo, but got the same number of pull-down reps and weight in 2 fewer sets, got some good rep counts into the ab wheel, added weight on curls... also feel like my arms are looking good, but I am too scared to measure. I feel like my waist is going down based on lifting belt tightness, and BW is basically hovering, so?

39 degrees and pouring rain, I ain't about that farmer carry life today. Finished the session with CoC while logging, the T was a challenge. Overall another good session. Got an extra top set rep, used proper form on the volume reps, got an additional pull up, finished faster (though shrugs and walks took much less time than farmers).

Increases on reps or weights everywhere here.
I like the seated start box jumps better than the regular, I think, my quads are more tired than they are after the regular kind, which mostly just makes my low back sore.

Kinda crappy. 310 was a grind. 235 wasn't bad at all, though. Other lifts were good, felt stronger than last week. Not sure why so slow, probably the squat warmups felt hard so I sandbagged it.

Quads and hamstrings were pretty sore Sat evening and Sunday, I suspect it was the box jumps. I'll blame the squat performance on that.

Just OK. Wore my elbow sleeves (which used to be tight-ish, now are very loose) during warmup/top set because it was cold and I didn't bring out a sweatshirt, and the bit on my forearm where it stretched open because they are now too big bumped the pipe safety on the last warmup which made me over-tuck my elbows on the top set to make sure they didn't hit again which made it harder? Anyways, same number of reps at the same weight in fewer sets. Other lifts increased. Next week probably just some heavier singles or something, or go back to a single @8 then volume with AMAP. Need to rein back in the bench volume.

2yo home sick again today, need to make sure he feels better by Friday so we can ship him off to the in-laws.
