Thanks! I’m hoping that with a couple more weeks of focused strength work and good recovery, I can pull six plates in early January.

12/22/17 - Friday

Submitted my letter of resignation at work and went straight to the gym. Drove over there like

GPP

Chins - 2x5 w/ BW+30, 5 w BW+25

Power Clean + Split Jerk - worked up to 255. Missed 275. Gotta get that front foot forward and dive under. My jerk sucks.

Prowler - 7 rds of :20/1:20 w 135 lbs

Notes: Prowler is getting more manageable, but gravity had definitely regained its hold on me by the time I was done. Did the last length of track with the low handles and had newborn calf legs afterwards.

Yup, thanks Wilhelm!

Instead of facing unemployment on 1/1, I’m looking at a hefty salary increase preceded by three weeks paid vacation (by resigning and cashing out unused PTO before EOY). Tooting my own horn all over the place, but I’m feeing great.

Yes sir. I went through about two dozen shrimp. Lasagna is on deck, then the sweet tooth will be in full effect.

DL - 135x5x2, 225x3, 315, 405, 485@6ish, 535@8, 560@9 PR, 500x3@9, 475x3@9, 455x3@9

Press - 45x5x2, 85x3, 115x3, 145, 175, 195@8, 207.5@9, 192.7x3@9, 185x3@9, 177.5x3@8.5-9, 172.5x3@8.5-9

3-0-3 Tempo Squat of Hate - 45x6x2, 135x6, 185x3, 225x6@6, 235x6@7, 245x6x3@8ish

Notes: BW = 256 lol. I stripped down to my underwear and re-weighed myself because I couldn’t believe it (was 257 at first). That Christmas lasagna was no joke.

DL is a lot of fun these days. Programming 1 heavy set offive weekly for so long was obviously not ideal. Adding volume has given some quick gains here. Hitting PR singles weekly @9 is a good time.

I derped and pushed my @9 press single away from myself. Bit of a struggle, but still rated a 9 (assuming g I wouldn’t have derped again).

Tempo squats fried my low back once again. No sleeves, but my knees feel fine. They feel overall better than they did a couple of weeks ago.

Nice work, rugger! The girl with the white headband did some funny stuff with a band - WTF???. After working out alone for years I forgot how entertaining (and distracting) these gyms could be.
