I didn’t get to the NYC area until 2002, but I have fond memories of the Tonic. They closed before I got a chance to play there, but I saw some great concerts: Derek Bailey and Cyro Baptista, Marc Ribot and John Zorn. Crazy stuff.

I had never really checked out your log, but when I did, your description of this book piqued my interest. It was an excellent read, thanks for the recommendation!
