Deadlift
155-5
265-2
375-1
441-1
452-2 - Less of a jump than what I wanted, but that's all I had today
375-5
Deadlift continues to feel weak. My brain is telling my body to lift heavy weights and the body is not listening. Something in my lizard brain is saying don't do it, it's too heavy. Plus I still have a bit of a sore back which isn't helping. Maybe I need to drop a couple Advils before my workout...

Was doing logging and chipping branches today as I'm clearing some forest. I probably shouldn't do heavy labor work on a squat day. I'm hoping this is the reason for struggling with squats today.
Squat
Bar-10
155-5
265-2
375-1
440-2,2, Not happy with these. Was planning on "easy" triples but didn't want to go 100% this close to my meet. Considering I did 435 for 5's a couple weeks ago I hope I didn't peak too early.
265-10 - ATG back off set. At least these felt good to do

Comp Bench
Bar-20
155-10
265-2
319-3,2, Was going for 3 triples but on the second set didn't want to strain for a 3rd. Dropped 5kg's for the last triple
308-3
220-15 - Didn't pause these, just repped them out with a few left in the tank. Felt good!

Speed squat
Bar-10
155-5
220 + 40 chains-3,3,3,

Deadlift - These are not feeling good. I have soreness in my R hip and lower back which is preventing me from pulling hard. I probably won't do anymore deadlifting until my meet 2 weeks from now. I don't have high hopes at my meet either. I'll be happy if I can pull close to 500, and even that's not a given. Quite frankly I'm not all that excited about the meet. I've got so much else going on in life that it's a distraction now.
155-5
265-2
375-1
440-1
462-1

Comp Bench
Bar-20
70kg/155lb-5
120kg/265lb-1
140kg/308lb-1
155kg/342lb-1,1, Moved well and fast. Pretty happy with how these went. Figure these were ~95% of 1RM

Close grip Speed bench
110kg/242lb-5,5,5, - RPE 4-5 - left a few reps in the tank on these. Concentrated on moving the bar as fast as possible off the chest and to lockout.

My right hip and lower back is still a bit sore. We'll see how squats go tomorrow.

Things definitely aren't fun if you're hurt and the weights aren't moving as well as they should be. We'll see how things go. Bench was positive today; I'll see how squats go tomorrow. No more heavy deadlifts...

Squats - Back and R hip still sore. Even my quads are sore for some reason. I'll definitely be taking a break from heavy lifting after this meet
Bar-10
kg/lb
70/155-5
120/265-2
150/330-1
170/375-1
190/418-1
200/440-1 - This was very heavy for me. Considering my opener last meet in Feb was 210kg/462lb, I will have to drop weight for my upcoming meet. Probably open at 190kg. This will be my last heavy single before the meet.
150/330-5,5,5, - Did these ATG. Felt good and went easy

8 days out from my meet.
Squat
kg/lb
Bar-5
70/155-5
120/265-2
150/330-1
170/375-1
190/418-1 - I said I wouldn't do any additional heavy singles before the meet. Changed my mind - This will likely be my opener, or maybe a little heavier. It actually felt not too bad today.

Bench
Bar-10
70/155-5
120/265-1
140-308-1
152.5/336-1 - This will likely be my opener.

Deadlift
70/155-5
120/265-2
170/365-1 - Back still is bothering me. Wasn't planning on anything too heavy, but was thinking 200kg. This didn't feel great and I don't want to make my back worse so stopped here.

deadlift is one of those lifts where you could not do it for a month and still surprise yourself with a good number

4 Days out - Squat and bench at 80% of openers for 3 doubles

Squat
Bar-10
70kg-5
120kg-2
160kg-2,2,2, - Some soreness in my legs still. Will probably take an Advil or two at the meet. Hip and back are 90%

Bench
Bar-12
70kg-5
125kg-2,2,2, - These felt pretty good

2 days out from my meet now. I know my squat and deadlift will be sub par. I peaked a little too early and am not 100% due to a sore hip and lower back. I still plan to lift as much as I can but I won't be near what I did a few months ago. One bright spot is my bench though, at least I think it will be. I'm pretty sure I can beat the full meet provincial bench record of 152.5kg, and even the National record at 155kg. I'm sure going to try anyways.

Worked up to 70% of my openers today in squat and bench. Tried to move the weights as fast/explosively as possible.

In KG
Squat
Bar-10
70-5
100-2
120-1
135-1,1, - Still have muscle soreness in my legs, and joint soreness in my hip/back.

Bench
Bar-13
70-5
110-1,1,1, - seemed light and the weights moved well

Thanks @houzi !

Meet results:
Despite some misgivings about competing, I had a successful meet. I went 9 for 9, set a national bench record, and slightly increased my national total record. Although this was a provincial meet, they had national level judges, so my lifts will count as national records.

Masters 3, 105kg - British Columbia provincial meet

Squat (weights in KG's):
190 - didn't know what to expect based on my last few weeks of training so opened light
200 - This weight seemed to move better than my opener
210 - This was a bit of a strain, but I had more in the tank

Bench - Competition is always harder than training. The start command came after several seconds of holding, and the press command seemed really long in coming too.
150 - felt light and moved fast
155 - Again, this moved fast - the commentator said it moved like baby weights LOL
161 - The previous national record was 160 (not 155 like I mentioned above) so the minimum increase was 1kg which is what I added. I got 1 red light from a side judge but the lift counted. Again, I had a bit more in the tank

Deadlift
210 - I was going to open with 200 but the warm ups felt pretty good so I did 210. Surprisingly (based on my previous weeks of training) this moved pretty easy.
225 - Because 210 went easy I bumped to 225. This went well too.
237.5 - The provincial record was 235 so I bumped it up a bit. Had to work for this but got it.

Total = 608.5 - This increased my national total record by 3.5 KG's. I now hold all the provincial records for my age/weight class too. Pretty happy with that considering I was thinking of not even competing due to injury and poor training results from the previous few weeks.

Thats a fantastic result! Congrats man. Considering you seemed pretty bummed out about deadlifts in training, turning it around and hitting a provincial deadlift record is brilliant.

Thanks @houzi ! You too @JohnHelton !

I feel pretty good so will do some light training tomorrow. I think I will do some higher rep body building type work and avoid anything really heavy for a little bit
