2024 has been good to me for squat PRs. Took it after a long day with baby and a nap.

New all-time squat and bench PR. I'm super happy about these lifts.

Great grind on that bench, @eyezm. Do you mind sharing what strategies you used to get the three plate bench?

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Lots and lots of patience, lol. I've been following the Barbell Medicine Low Fatigue program on and off for about 2 years now and it works very well for me. The bulk of the program calls for singles @7, followed by back-off sets based off of a percentage of your E1RM for that lift, for that day. However, I've found singles @8 for bench press work better for me than singles @7. So basically, lots of heavy singles, followed by lots of volume at sub maximal intensities.

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Went to a different work site today.
There was a corporate gym there that I’m not sure I was supposed to use.
They had dumbbells up to 125!!!!!!!
Heaviest I’ve ever dumbbell benched before are the 100lb’ers.
Walked in quickly. Immediately got the weights. Tried the 105’s. Got them for a double. Immediately walked out. No time for anyone to correct me or ask me if I worked there. Guerilla lifting.
Good times.

New PR for squat 365 lbs x1.
My 3rd PR for this year. 2024 is the year of squat PRs. Legs must have fatigued immediately after since I was putting away plates and bench after, and got a back tweak lol. I’ll take a break for a week till I restart my program again.

Id like to imagine theres another forum somewhere on the internet, and someone is posting about how this random guy came to his gym in work clothes, did a couple reps and left - "what is even the point, that is a highly ineffective workout, volume is too low, does he even lift".hector wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 5:08 pm Went to a different work site today.

I would hope this critique would end with “Does he really think he’s accomplishing anything? Citation desperately needed!”houzi wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 9:37 pmId like to imagine theres another forum somewhere on the internet, and someone is posting about how this random guy came to his gym in work clothes, did a couple reps and left - "what is even the point, that is a highly ineffective workout, volume is too low, does he even lift".hector wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 5:08 pm Went to a different work site today.
