Haha, yeah. I have the misfortune that almost all the fat I carry sits in my abdomen.

Re: Who is on a cut?
I have turned a 42 in waist to a 38.5 this year. I do notice a little less stability and power in my squats, but I feel and look better. Mainly what I did was cut out milk. I had been drinking 2 protein shakes per day with milk. Now i still use the whey powder but mix it with unsweet almond milk. That, and eating more fish and rice and less beef. Took about 6 months but 20 pounds and 3 inched off the waist is fine with me. and easy to do.

My buddy’s father-in-law is in his 80s, looks and acts like he’s in his 50s, and has cantaloupes for biceps. Apparently all he’s eaten for decades is fish and soup.cole wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 5:25 pm I have turned a 42 in waist to a 38.5 this year. Not joking: also at one point (decades ago I guess) he had two entirely separate families - talking wives and kids - who knew nothing of the other. Play on, playa... or something.alek wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:16 amTalk about life goals.DanCR wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 6:45 pmMy buddy’s father-in-law is in his 80s, looks and acts like he’s in his 50s, and has cantaloupes for biceps. Whoa. I’ve heard of stories like that—dudes have two separate families in towns like ten miles apart.DanCR wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 1:01 pmNot joking: also at one point (decades ago I guess) he had two entirely separate families - talking wives and kids - who knew nothing of the other. Re: Who is on a cut?
It's just doing lowest bulk foods possible.
Keep calories at least maintenance.
You are just getting rid of the poop weight.
I use oat milk that has the higher calories, whey, honey, etc...
Chocolate...
I've read one online that uses almonds, but i never have done that.
You want to be well fed in regard to calories and protein to give good performance results.
I do it all of meet week, so starting Monday, but i've seen three days recommended.
Side bonus, no worries about pooping meet day lol
I also will do the chewing gum (lots of it) and spitting trick.
Pound and a half guaranteed.
depending on how my lifts and bodyweight look for next meet, and my goal of 360+ DOTS, i may or may not do that, and also i have done just stopping eating and drinking Friday morning until after weigh ins Saturday.
Lite salt (50/50 sodium/potassium chloride) in strong solution in water, then fresh water, cookies, and more dilute salty water have done the trick easily for rehydration.
Also my usual magnesium citrate.
Edit to add-
USAPL, and i think IPF as well (maybe other feds too) allow for weighing in nude.

Me too. A bit tired of being around 95 kgs / 210 lbs. Wanted to cut during summer holidays but then I remembered what summer holidays were. I may or may not succeed.

Re: Who is on a cut?
Doing a "ghost deficit"
Easing down to 174-175lb/79kg or so, then maintaining until meet day.
2,500 calories per day
AM weight today 176lb/79.8kg
Would like to weigh in meet day at 78kg with some gentle meet week weight manipulation (full calorie, high carb gut cut, then spit my usual 1.5lbs)
Staying well-fed for the "strength phase" work that remains.
14.25 cal /lb bw right now.
I won't be going lower than 2,500 regardless of where that bottoms out.
Want to be fully weight stable as early as I can.
I give it to the 1st or 2nd week in Oct.

Re: Who is on a cut?
175lb this morning.
I'll just be staying at 2,500 calories until after the March meet.
I'd be surprised if that takes me below 174, so i'll just let it level off wherever it does.
At some point very soon, i expect that to be flat maintenance.
December meet isn't scored on DOTS, but 360+ is a personal goal, and i want to be ready for the State Championship in March, when placing is on DOTS.

Re: Who is on a cut?
Third day at 2,400 calories, after 3+ weeks at 2,500
174.75lb this morning.
Not really challenging energy availability.
Still around 13.7 cals per lb bw.
Still playing the DOTS game, but not in a drastic way at all.
I’m thinking i'll just stay at 2,400 all the way to the March 29th State Championship meet.
Not doing any hypertrophy focused work till then.
I will certainly level out fully at flat maintenance long before that.
Likely well before my December meet, actually.
