Even some powerlifters themselves have gotten in on it. Dan Green wrote a piece for Juggernaut back in the day talking about how his powerlfting squat was stuck, and the significant progress he made after noticing that the guys beating him all had massive quads. Subsequently he started posting videos of high bar squats.

For myself, I think I'll stay with low bar for now. Maybe I'll try some high bar again in the future, if I feel like it?

I think everyone should do whichever version feels best for them, and play with the other if / when they want the other’s particular benefits. I might play with low bar again when my current run ends. I’ve also been interested for a long time in working with the SSB.
