Despite what I just posted .... I'm going to flip flop on this a little.

Leaning towards nothing is wrong with the gun.

My bet is there's a problem with tolerance stacking on the new receiver tech/trigger/trigger bar which is causing in-spec parts, when 3 or more trigger system parts are all on one end of the tolerance spectrum, to sometimes permit sideways trigger pressure or twisting of the gun to discharge it. This kind of problem is fiendishly difficult to find, and even when you have a few examples of the guns in hand can't always be easily identified as it might require more random conditions (such as parts being slightly incorrectly seated when reassembled, but when a suspect gun is taken apart to be checked it'll be reassembled more-better).

Especially if it's something where it requires 2-3 barely in-spec parts + mediocre assembly the sample size and care needed to detect the exact problem is going to be huge and given their approach I'm not confident they're approaching this is a truth seeking mode. Way too much smoke (IMO) for not a bit of fire.

I find it hard to believe, they have the guns that have discharged "on their own", and could not get those individual guns to replicate the issue. If they did, we would certainly hear about it by now. I bet a lot of the discharges in holsters are from putting the guy into the wrong brand/model/type of holster. A lot of videos showing the AFTERMATH of a ghost-discharge (supposedly) in the holster ...if that gun was infact was defective in a way that they are claiming .... they would for sure get it to duplicate the problem after thousands of tries.

That one FBI report SAYS that they did, but they did not get into specifics on how that was done. Some YT-people have recently got the gun to do "it" (allegedly), but they have to pull the trigger a couple of mm first, and then fuck with the slide. Don't pull the trigger if you don't want to destroy what is in front of the barrel. If your torture a gun long enough you can get it to fire.

------------------------------------

I think the possibilities are as such:

Most likely: nothing is really wrong with the gun. These are all NDs, as the quasi-single action no safety no trigger-safety design and better (lighter) trigger pull will be fairly unforgiving. And people are covering their tracks with the previous problems with this model (drop fire).
If you are a LEO or military person, you really really really don't want a ND to go on your record (even if no-one got injured from said ND). They just blame the gun.

Next most likely: Maybe a slight chance a few guns (out of 3 million) are defective, worn, or 'broken". But 98% of the alleged non-commanded discharges are still in fact NDs.

Least likely: There is an inherit bad design to the gun leading to all these non-commanded discharges.

I am surprised for a military or LEO application, those institutions would select a pistol with this kind of operating system/no safety at all.

Bought a Backfire pad for my gun. Allegedly they put a bunch of recoil patterns into their matrix vs gun weights vs suppressed and will send you one that has the right internal structure for your specific round/weight. I have not tested it at the range yet. The fit and finish is great. I ended up (b/c I need the extra length of pull) hacking it together onto my deer rifle, so not going to be a perfect test. The internal structure (that I can see through the sides) actually looks like something where it would be possible to easily run off 50 different kinds of these, so I'm at least slightly inclined to believe their process here.

Won't have a chance to shoot it for a few weeks, but with hunting season around the corner thought maybe someone else would be in the market for a pad and might not have seen this.

Backfire rear end of firearm device :D lived up to the cost. I will absolutely slap one of these on every gun I want accuracy from. Noticeably reduced felt recoil over the stock pad. That said, the stock one is noted for being particularly stiff so might have been more of an issue with the stock device stinking.

The one time a news outlet could finally use the term "clip" correctly (instead of calling magazines clips),
just via dumb luck, and they somehow STILL drop the ball and get it wrong.
The FBI released an image showing a magazine of rounds that features anti-ICE messaging following a shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday. (FB

Using my Sig P365 for EDC. I do not like the trigger. Too long. There are several after market trigger upgrades that reduce the travel. Does anyone have any experience with a trigger mod on a P365?

Terrible, terrible trigger. I haven’t bothered to change mine. Find a great replacement!

Disclaimer: I’m still largely an ignoramus here.

I’ve enjoyed my P365XL and want to move up to a compact for more accuracy and a more comfortable grip. I’ve settled on the Walther PDP (5-inch). Any thoughts?

Edit: NM. Done.

I’m gonna. Some nice Xmas sales on the basic LE version. Do I want anything fancier? (Please say no. I just bought a gun a month ago and my wallet, she hurts.)

Thank you for that - was an even better deal than the ones that I'd found.

On its way.

To paraphrase, "We need a common sense ban on these high-speed bolt action rifles."

In case anybody thinks that gun control is actually satisfied once they've gotten rid of 30 caliber mag clips and shoulder things that go up.

Forgot to screenshot but saw (on a local to my small town fbook page) a person fully seriously complaining about "rapid fire assault rifles" and another about "I am sure it was automatic rifle. many rounds heard at my house. Across the street from the legion". Direct quote: "it was like 30 shots in 5 seconds I live in the very back of somerset in the woods part and it sounded like a pistol first then a machine gun then a shot gun".

One of those amazing pistolrifleshot machine guns all in 5 seconds.

Answer: Someone was shooting an xmas present off their back porch on their own 40 acre plot. I hunt that area, not the general area, that within 300 yards kind of area, and I can tell you that there's a LOT of target shooting going on around there. But people are home and bored on a holiday and suddenly it's 120+ comments on fbook and "OMG A MACHINE GUN".

So...a straight pull action that has been available since 1884?

Fuck it. Go for it Australia.

Posting this for anyone that cares. It is an AI comparison of the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol vs Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch. Thought it was interesting. Essentially both really good. Thunder Ranch 'more rugged' but front heavy. Barretta better handling.

I believe @Hanley's link is the steal of 2025.

UPDATE: Bought the shotty. Super excited. We should start a shotgun gang.

Question to my fellow Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol owners.

Is the Beretta Pro-Lifter a worth while upgrade?
