Re: Who is on a cut?
@DanCR trader joes had a similar concoction and I was using it in cottage cheese for awhile. You’re right, it’ll get old in a while.

Similar to this, tomatoes go pretty well with cottage cheese. Add a little salt and pepper.

Re: Who is on a cut?
Been on a cut for a month. Started around 20-24% bodyfat.
210 lb Male 33yo 6'2"
Started with
Breakfast
1 Cup Oatmeal
1/4 Cup Protein4Oats Powers
1 tblspn Ground Flaxseed
1 tblspn Maple Syrup
1 tblspon Avocado Oil
Blackberries/Raspberries
Snack
Perfect Bar
Blend: 1 Cup Cottage Cheese, 1 Scoop Ancient Nutrition Protein Powder (high Leucine content), 1 tspn Cinnamon, 1 tblspn Peanut Butter, Chopped Strawberries
Lunch
2 lb ground turkey divided over 7 days
1 pack Ben's White Rice
2 Large Eggs
Mushrooms/Red Onion/White Onion/Spinach/Broccoli
Olive oil spray
Bbq Sauce
Dinner
2 Chicken Tighs
1 Cup Brown Rice Pasta
1 Zucchini
Bbq Sauce
Olive oil spray
Dessert
90 Cal Fudge Bar
Since I've started this I've decreased my calories weekly. For example I:
- switched to 2/3 cup oatmeal, 1/3 cup Protein4 Oats powder
- Removed avocado oil
- Reduced to 1 tspn Peanut Butter
- Reduced to 1 cup Minute Maid Brown Rice/Quinoa
- Switched to Egg Whites / 1 Medium Egg
- Switched to low calorie BBQ Sauces
- Switched to 1 Chicken Tigh/ 1 Chicken Breast
- Switched to 1/2 Cup Brown Rice Pasta, then 3/4 Cup Carbe Diem Pasta, then 1/2 Cup
- Removed olive oil spray during dinner
- Started eating fudge bar on workout days only
- Replaced some hypertrophy sets with Stairmaster
Each change I've done one at a time to get used to the calorie reduction. Down 7 lb so far.

11 months later I'm at 207. I ended up bouncing off 200 a few times in the winter/spring. Late summer was as shitshow. Prednisone 60mg/day for 2 weeks then a taper for Poison Ivy coming after my wife had a massive case of it did not make for the healthiest decisions. But, overall, extremely happy to be under 209 1 year later (the October post) making it a ~30+ pounds weight loss maintained Year Over Year.5hout wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 1:40 am 209.6. Increasingly convinced that medium to long term food volume reduction is a huge aid to not fucking yourself on cheat meals/days. Nothing wrong with a cheat meal, but it's so easy to turn it into a saturnalia that takes 2 weeks to recover from. Had Pho (extra large b/c dumb) last Sunday. Incredible, but I was in physical pain for probably 30 hours after eating that much food. Really helped me control the post-cheat increased binge desires.
Same observations as last fall hold true (for me): I do not do well with high volume, low calorie foods. A lot easier to eat 3-4 reasonable plates of good (generally low carb) food and be full each time.
Have 1 camping trip and an 8 day long semi-backpacking trip (backpacking + a 2 wheeled deer cart of stuff) still coming up this fall, plus rifle season of course, so I hope to break through this 200-205 barrier. Still fairly happy with the last year in terms of weight loss. I'd like to have lost more, duh, but not bouncing back up feels good.

Re: Who is on a cut?
Good timing pulling this thread back up. Today I dropped below 200 lbs for the first time in close to 15 years. Last July my weight peaked at 218.8. By late September I brought it down to 202 by just generally eating like less of an asshole. I couldn’t get any further and spent until early August this year sat between 204-207. I reached 208.8 one morning, got pissed, and started trying again. What I did was find a prepared meals spot nearby and started eating nearly nothing but their meals. (There have been some massive weekend deviations, but usually just one day.) My average day is three of the meals plus a protein drink. I’m averaging between 1600-1800 calories per day and around 120g protein. This has been a lesson - that I should have bothered to learn years ago - in what x calories actually looks like on a plate. I’m very lowkey hungry a lot, feeling like I “could eat,” but I’m not remotely starving. Today I was 199.6.

It really is a depressing lesson when you see how much "normal" (for a skinny person with an adult metabolism not running track after school and doing 18 other activities) food is.
