The travelling has been a real eye opener for my wife and I. I haven't done much travelling except for the usual Mexican/Caribbean/Hawaii resorts, business trips to China and travel throughout Canada/US.

My wife is already talking about next year. Worlds is again in South Africa but in Capetown instead of Sun City. If I qualify/go again we'll likely stop in Asia, maybe Thailand. Also, I've met some real nice people and made friends in the world powerlifting community. Another bonus

This is so cool.
Congratulations.
(Haven't checked this thread in quite a while)

I have two meets lined up.
Dec 8th in Stoneham MA at Titan Barbell, and March 29th for the Maine State Championship.
Dec 8th will be my first out-of-state meet.
I will also be sitting for my state referee test that day.

2/23
2025 Colorado State Championships, Thornton Co

weigh in: 105 kg (231lbs)
div: Masters 1A, 110kg class

Squat - 484 PR (200,210,220)
Bench - 363 PR (155,160,165)
DL - 507 PR (220,230f,230)
TOT: 1353 PR (615)

--> This was awesome! went 8/9, only failed my 2nd DL attempt. Somehow I lost my footing and threw the bar forward and down before I could lock it out. Kind of a bummer bc I had it, and wanted to try 240kg (wouldnt have gone today anyway I dont think)
--> Qualified for Nationals with the 615 total I think
--> Looking back, I think I tapered a little too aggressively and peaked about a month ago. Next time Im only gonna taper for a week or two, not a month. And big surprise, DL is my weakspot and I need to do something different. Maybe hit more singles for more practice or something. All in all good meet, meet total PR by 32.5 kg is nothing Im gonna complain about!

USAPL Masters nationals will be in Albany NY 2027.
Close enough for me to do it.
Get a room for 2 nights, drive in, sleep, compete, sleep, drive home.

11th meet, 3rd in -82.5kg class.

This was 10th meet, 2nd in -82.5kg
2025 Odyssey Barbell Club Classic.
Pretty cool having Geno announce my lifts.
Sumo PR w/ 200kg.

Best DL so far was 222.5 conventional at 92.1kg
Switched to (froggy) sumo because it's easier on my low back, which is better now, but will never be the same as it was.
I do expect to PR the lift, as well as my best total, which is 530kg at 92.kg, and my DOTS as well, which are 350.46 at 84.7kg

Redefining "Light Weight!" man, that looked like a warmup for you.

One week out from USAPL Maine State Championship meet.

My last meet as a Masters 3a.
11th meet overall.
I will be very close to my best DOTS ever, and may even PR that.

In any case, i'm looking better than since this meet in 2023 when i scored 350.46 DOTS
That was in -90kg class, and i weighed in at 84.7kg
I expect to be around 78 kg this time, and it will be my 3rd meet in -82.5kg class.

Eight masters lifters on the roster.

Managed a 2.5kg weight class total PR, and a 5kg weight class squat PR.
Did not PR DOTS all time, and essentially matched best weight class DOTS.
Third meet in -82.5kg class.
Weighed in 78.35kg.
Had a few decimals higher DOTS first meet in the class when i weighed in 75.2kg, barely into the class.

Was in 2nd place after bench to a -140kg Masters 1 lifter.
Meet scored on DOTS.

Competed at the IPL Kunming Powerlifting meet on Sept. 6th. This was my first ever meet

Weighed in at 112kg and was in the 125kg class.

Results were 227.5kg Squat, 152.5kg Bench Press and 255kg Deadlift, for a 635kg total.

I did a full meet write up in my training log:
viewtopic.php?p=392489#p392489

As nerve wracking as it was, it feels good to finally do a meet!
