On the upside baby mama had her first (and hopefully last) NST yesterday and 4.0 is testing well at least. He's very active, good heart rate, etc.

Hence the training today, I worked my (again, hopefully) last Friday for a bit and then drove her to the appt so I was exactly bursting with free time.

Now I'm gonna try and catch day 2 of the Arnold and fall asleep in a chair...

EZ Bar Curl

Training Related:
Gotta be honest, I don't think I hate this way of getting to 5x5. Not a 'true' 5x5 but I'd rather have to deal with one 'heavy' set at the end that stays consistent RPE wise without changing weight because I'm adding fatigue prior to the set. I think...

Non Training Related:
Baby mama had an appt at 2 yesterday and wound up being monitored until around 7:00 last night. Her blood pressure is weird, and says his (baby man) movement has been somewhat less frequent than normal. Plot twist, the 'severe' amniotic excess has decreased into mild/moderate. Good news for overall health, bad news for a very tired and in-pain pregnant woman who thought she could see the finish line.

Tentatively they've moved her induction date from Thursday the next Wednesday, but she's has yet another BPP test coming up Thursday and if they see anything concerning they're going to bring her in immediately.

Damned if you do damned if you don't. Obviously we want a safe healthy baby, but she also wants to be un-pregnant ASAP but that would mean something is wrong.

Someone more knowledgeable can correct me, but I believe that this is the “5x5” that Starr actually recommended.

Also, continued well wishes outside the gym.

I did a quick googlin' and you're (mostly) right. I definitely didn't consider it an original thought but it must have been buried in my brain somewhere from past readings...

Starr seems to just add weight to all the sets week to week but I feel like I've probably seen something similar to what I'm doing in Baker's stuff... which the influence would be obvious...

Battlefield Buffalo is back for May... last year's event selection sucked in my opinion but this year is looking good. Max dead, block press, duck walk, conans wheel, and a sandbag throw for max weight...

Haven't bought in officially but I'm giving it strong consideration...

And it gives me an excuse to make a block press...

Well that was quick...

Logan is here as of 1:14 am, at 9 and a few oz he's the smallest but at 23.5 inches he's the tallest so...

Everyone is well, the rollercoaster of danger and all that was essentially for nothing. Probably the shortest and easiest labor she's had...

She was very very close to delivering this kid standing up with one leg on a cosco step stool... not a joke or exaggeration. Not that her labor wasn't impressive enough but damn, that would have been a whole other level.

Hey thanks...

So far so good, homeboy passed all his blood sugar tests and is pooping/pissing his brains out so fingers crossed they can't find any reason to not let us go...

Well, my day was pretty boring compared to that. Fingers crossed the kid is 100% and nothing to worry about.

All good, final weight ended up fairly close to our last one. Waiting to be discharged now. He has the same dilated kidney thing that our last one had as well, so he'll have to have an ultrasound soon but it tends to resolve on its own in our case...

This kid shits... a LOT.
