Oh, ok I thought you wanted to do something that would learn a lifter's barspeed velocity profile for a lift, then use that to determine fatigue during a set/workout. Now that I write it out it seems more doable.Hanley wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 11:32 amBar-speed-profile is basically the model of a lifter's bar speed decay at a given intensity to a certain degree of intraset fatigue. If I can get a very good model of a lifter's bar-speed decay, then I can estimate real-time 1rm; I can use reduction in force production as a proxy for real-time fatigue, etc. Basically, it's a hyper-refined/glorified RPE system.

The decay model for most lifters lifts is pretty close to linear, but not always. Manveer mentioned that something like a bench 8rm has a really weird bar-speed decay profile (pulling example numbers from my somewhat-informed ass...something like: .41, .44, .40, .36, .33, .27, .25, .14).

When are you releasing your bar-speed-auto-adjusting-algorithm-based program, Hanley? I want it.

After upper level stats & when I get lots better at coding.SeanHerbison wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 2:16 am When are you releasing your bar-speed-auto-adjusting-algorithm-based program, Hanley? I want it.

Feel free to bounce questions about stats stuff of me. Might not be able to answer them, but it'll be an interesting discussion.Hanley wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 1:19 pmAfter upper level stats & when I get lots better at coding.SeanHerbison wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 2:16 am When are you releasing your bar-speed-auto-adjusting-algorithm-based program, Hanley?
