29 July 2020
-----------------------
AM BW: didn't weigh myself

BP: 195x7,6,4,5,6x2 (wtf?)
BS: 280x6x2, 7
Chins: BWx10, BW+25x10x5
Dips: BW+25x10,8,11,11, 10
DL: 420x1 (overwarm, PR), 395x5, 370x5x3

Notes:
Bench: I was supposed to be 8x2,9+, but that didn't happen. I wonder what happened between Monday and today... really off day for bench I guess. Decided to go ham on sets to get some decent work in, even if not 8s

Squats: last rep of each set was a bit hard, but otherwise fine.

Chins: trying to get back on the chin bandwagon

Dips: the rep scheme was fucked up because my weight belt fucked up on the second set.

DL: Overwarmup felt less like a single @8 than a single @9. May have to titrate this down a little bit. The backoff sets also were harder than I expected. I will probably keep them at this weight next time.

31 July 2020
-----------

I was fuckin rekt yesterday....

AM BW: didn't weigh myself. need to start doing that again...

BP: 200x6x2, 4x2 (better than last week, but still not there yet)
BS: 310x1, 295x4x2,5

Chins: BW+30x10x5
OHP (!): 95x8x2, 15 (lol)

SGDL: 225x8x4

notes:
Bench was better than last week, but still not enough.

Second squat set was difficult, but the third was fine. Weird.

I decided to add in some OHPs today. My 1/5 baked idea is just to do 8s w/ progression defined by the Nuckols plan ( third set <= 8 reps no progression; 9-10, + 5 lbs; 11-12, + 10 lbs; 13+ 15 lbs ....tempted to make 13-14 + 15 and 15+ 20 lbs, but we'll see how i feel sunday...)

bp: 210x3x6 ... really shat the bed on these
bs: 265x8x2,9

more is programmed for later... deadlifts being most important. i'm thinking that i may switch my top dl set to a couple triples.... the last couple reps of my top sets of 5 are getting kind of dodgy, and i was fucking wiped from friday night for basically all of saturday.

ohp: 115x8x2,9

i have been in a bad fuckin mood all day, so i just decided to call it after these. i'll probably try to do deadlifts tomorrow morning early as opposed to waiting until wednesday.

AM BW: didn't weigh

DL: 400x5, 370x5x3

Originally planned on doing 400x3x2, but my third rep felt like I had at least a few more in me, so I went ahead and went for a set of 5.

Backoffs were fine.

i was going to do this yesterday, but i spend tuesday night to late yesterday afternoon dealing with both my phone and work computer simultaneously shitting the bed, which is a problem when everything is locked down with 2fa and you can't do work on a non work machine... got that sorted out and was drained.

AM BW: didn't weigh

BP: 195x8,7,6x2,4 (still not there, decent progress on each set over last week...)
BS: 285x6x2,7 <--- i had more trouble than these than i should have.... everything felt loose and shakey.
Chins: BW+35x10x5
OHP: 120x7,6,7
SGDL: 245x8x4 <-- these are getting a little harder ... may just step up by 10 lbs next time. not sure.

AM BW: dunno

Finishing up from yesterday.... I had to run some unexpected errands in the afternoon and was completely wiped when I got back. Will do either dips or chins later... probably dips.

OHP: 125x4x2,7
DL: : 405x5 (matches x5 PR), 375x5x3
dips: bw +35 x 10 x 6

Looking back at my log, I didn't keep records for a long time, but I did note that I hit a 5RM PR of 405x5 DL on 25 April 2018, and I've never done a higher weight for 5 so this matches a PR at something like 20-25 lbs lower bw at least. As I recall, that 405x5 was basically @10, and this was @8.5 or so, so I'm feeling pretty good about this, even though the backoffs were a little rough...

Now I just need to work on my squat...

I may DL later today and I may not. 6 days for squats really take it out of me. I think I set the weight too high at first, and it's kind of remained too high even with the autoregulation.

I didn't have the time or energy to get to the rest of my workout yesterday. Going to just skip 6 day for squats this week I think.... I'd rather deadlift today anyway. But I'll get my overhead work in.

OHP: 125x6x2,7,6x2

Will do DL this afternoon.

I think that residual fatigue is really catching up with me lately.... I'm about 15 weeks into my current stent of lifting with no planned deloads, although I've adjusted and shifted my deadlift programming/days here and there. I've been good (comparatively speaking, for me) about consistency, and yesterday was the first squat workout I've straight up skipped. I think that I'm going to finish out next week and then play the last week before my vacation by ear.

DL: 415x5 (x5 pr, -5 lbs from x1 pr), 385x5x3

I am fairly sure that the snatch grips are helping. I always used to get stuck on the floor when I failed deadlifts.... I would never miss at lockout. The first rep of a set typically feels harder than the rest, but I'm never in danger of missing off the floor.

(thinks about my squat/dead disparity) I should probably do more dedicated quad work

BP: 205x6x2, 5x3 -- I tried a slightly wider grip this time, from my pinky on the ring to my ring finder on the ring. Everything moved slower, but better performance than last time, so I dunno.
BS: 310x4x2,5 -- first two sets were rough, final one less so.

i'll do a bit more later.

I guess I really smoked my triceps this morning.

Feeling really off today. Not so much physically as mentally. Told myself I'd get out into the garage and do some stuff. I may do more as the day permits

First and second sets were probably @8; I got sloppy and loose on the third set and then it was downhill from there. Fucking annoying.

Feeling a bit better today. Yesterday I just mentally felt like complete dogshit for some reason. Ended up moving most of the stuff planned for yesterday to today. Doing this in between meetings.

BS: 280x8x2,9

These felt not super great when I had my 3" belt on, but when I slapped on my way-too-big-but-with-many-holes-drilled-into-it 4" belt, the last set felt fine. Something something ab work?

OHP: 125x8x2,9

Going to try to get sgdls in, but it's damned hot in the garage.

SGDL: 275x8x4.

My quads were burning after these.

1 September 2020
----------------

BP: 205x6x3,5,4
BS: 315x4x2,5

May do OHP later, haven't decided.

This is likely my last training session before vacation, unless I decide to do DLs tomorrow am. If I do, it'll just be a top set, no backoffs. I am going to do a mock meet on Friday to try to set some PRs and determine training maxes for AtS2 which I plan on starting when I get back form vacation.

For Friday, I'm probably just going to do SBD and not do an OHP. I'll just set that TM from the E1RM I have from my sets of 4. It will likely be *a little* low, since I always do OHP after bench whereas I'm planning on doing 6 day AtS2, where OHP basically has its own day.

From the last week's 4 days, I have ( max number of reps achieved in a set)

BS: 315x5
BP: 215x4
DL:415x5.

So, I'm planning on opening at 330-335 / 225 / 440. If I end up doing a top set of DLs tomorrow, I may adjust the DL number a bit.

Current PRs (squat at a much higher BW; the other ones more recent) are 332.5 (lolz microplates) / 235 (from the other day, an overwarmup that was probably actually @9ish instead of @8ish) / 420.

4 September 2020
----------------

fake meet day

am bw: 178

I unfortunately slept like fuckin garbage last night, and I got started later than I wanted to, but all in all, I'm pretty pleased with how things went. I was worried about my depth because I rarely monitor it, but it seems like I sank them.

BS attempts:

330 (good depth)
340 (PR; good depth)
350 (PR; good depth)
I should have loaded another 6 lbs on the bar for a 2x bw squat, but alas.

BP attempts (TnG because I haven't been pausing)

230 (good)
235 (good; matches PR)
240 (failed)

DL attempts:

425 (good; PR)
440 (lockout was a touch soft at knees, but i think it was good; PR)

Didn't take my third because the second wiped me out.

So, I went 350/235/440, which is about what my goal from a few months ago was (goal was 345/235/445), but I was probably too ambitious re: how much I could deadlift in the last few days.
