1x1 132.5 PR
1x6 110
4x6 105

Deadlift
1x5 135
1x3 215
1x2 265
1x1 300
1x1 330
3x6 255

Close Grip Bench

1x6 75
1x4 95
4x8 115

Rower
10 min, 10 sprints
105 kcal burned

2.5lb away from a one plate press. I'm still holding my elbows too far forward which pushes the bar away from me. They look vertical in the mirror and when I try to hold them lower it doesn't feel nice. Maybe I need to widen my grip even more so chest can stay out, bar sit on my chest, and elbows be vertical. But how wide is too wide?!?!?! :x

Tied my deadlift PR, hopefully with better form, couldn't record cuz my phone died.

No bad stories today. Just one dude complimenting me on my deadlift form.

Last press warm up at 120 and press PR at 132.5 videod below.

In my defense, I did do light press work yesterday, and instead of going up on weight for the volume work I took 5% off the bar and added in another set. I am doing more volume and regulating intensity better!!!!!!!!

Squat
1x5 55, 105, 125
5x5 145

Rower
11 min, 8 sprints
100 kcal burned

Squats felt like shit all week, except today they felt amazing. Not sure why.

Maybe because I was super warm and did a bunch of bodyweight squats with my nieces and nephews earlier.

Or maybe it's because I used a different rack today.

Or maybe it's because I wore different shoes. My lifting shoes have been bothering me. Maybe I'll try squatting heavy in my air forces 1's and see if it's better.

Don't know what it is but I'm happy they moved like air as they usually do. Hope I can say the same tomorrow.

8/12 Squat PR

#310

Post by MF1000 » Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:21 pm

Squat
1x5 45, 125
1x3 165
1x2 205
1x1 245
1x1 275
1x1 295 PR
3x5 225
2x5 205

Rower
10 min, 10 sprints
100 kcal burned

Turns out it was the shoes.

I was only going to squat a single at 275 but it felt solid, so I went for 295. Felt way easier than 290! That fucking sticking point made sure to make an appearance though.

It could have moved faster. For a split second I was thinking of baling on this squat once I hit the sticking point, but my guardian angel told me not to be a pussy. Thank You, Lord.

Gym was closing so could only squat and row. Going to finish tomorrow I guess.

Now the question is, invest in new lifting shoes or just keep lifting in my air forces?

Squat PR at 295 below.

8/13 Bench PR

#320

Post by MF1000 » Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:32 pm

Sticking Point Pause Squat
1x8 55, 95, 135
3x8 155

Bench
1x5 45
1x3 95
1x2 125
1x1 150
1x1 170 PR
5x5 142.5

Pause Deadlift
1x3 135, 165, 195
5x3 215

Quite a fine day of bad decisions today!
Less caffeine and no food before lifting.
Forgot to bring water.
Sets of 8 pause squats before pause deadlifts (I didn't think it would fry my lower back so much :-(()
Pause deadlifts in air forces which are higher than my lifting shoes, so basically deficit pause deadlifts.

After so much stupidity, volume overhead presses were not happening. Got light headed even pressing the bar, and my shoulders were fried, prob from rowing last night.

Still hit a bench PR though ^_^
