I am really enjoying Ozark. First season was really good. Second season has been good as well. Very Breaking Bad.
Can confirm Ozark S2 is good. I don’t think this is spoily, but I like that this show has serious high tension turmoil, solid character development, AND the plot feels like it actually moves forward.
I complain about it often, but too many shows lately rely solely on tension and turmoil.
Iron Fist S2 is decent so far, in that at least it looks and feels like a show about Iron Fist and not a show about some guy who makes his hand glow occasionally and punches things kinda hard...

Too Breaking Bad. I'm not enjoying the direction that Wendy seems to be going in. She's losing her humanity.

Ugh. Still mired in season 1. I want to get to JJ, Luke Cage, Defenders, Punisher! I just need to turn it on and clean the house or something.

She and Marty are switching roles this season - it's interesting and I'm curious to see where they take it next year. I will also say - without giving too much away - this show is not afraid to make bold choices with characters.
Black Panther is available on Netflix now - it's not the best Marvel movie but I still enjoyed it.

SpoilerShow
Marty is constantly trying to compartmentalize. He thinks if he can keep all the broken things in their own little boxes, he can eventually fix each one, and bring all the fixed pieces together to form a perfect life. He believes so strongly in the eventuality of this perfect life that he lives calmly in the present.
Wendy could never be like Marty; she knows all the broken things will never be perfectly fixed, and that's why her life was one of anxiety and unfulfillment. She is now truthfully facing all the broken pieces, believing the only life they can live is one where everything is out of its box and connected. She seemed more human with anxiety and depression, but she is now transcending that role.
Marty can not handle the reality of the decompartmentalization, and I think he finally seems more human because of it. It will interesting to see where everyone goes next season.

We are kind of addicted to Riverdale. My little boy heart can't take that much drama right before bed that often, though.
It's one of my many guilty pleasures. Also FYI if you have HBO Pitch Perfect 3 is available right now.
Jack Ryan was a serviceable spy thriller on Amazon Prime. Some really good action sequences, tolerable acting, the terrorist plot is a little overcomplicated but still interesting. Biggest drawback is probably a romantic interest subplot that isn't really necessary and that has zero chemistry. I'd give it 3 / 4 stars.

Wasn’t as good as the first 2.

Netflix has Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, will re-watch it tonight.
I really, really like that movie. If you liked that did you ever watch Video Game High School? A similar level of geeky teen fun wrapped into a lowish budget series.
We finished The Sinner last night. Liked it quite a lot - it probably still wasn’t quite to the same standard as some dark UK/Euro detective thrillers (like, day, The Tunnel) but it was pretty darn good.
