Kitchen is under construction, wife offered to get McDonalds for everyone. I ask for a Big Breakfast with Hotcakes.

Wife gets home... no hot cakes.

I am Jack’s Unsatisfied Sweet Tooth.

I add the whey beforehand since sour stuff apparently helps the soaking (can't remember whether it was in removing that acid unsoaked oats have or taste-wise, read some knowledgeable bro explain why he meant you should add in the whey with the soaking).

I also use this dish to get in my share of berries, just add frozen forest berries (term for a blend here in Norwegian) the night before too.

But that requires pre planning, a skill I lack. Agree it's better, I sometimes make 2 batches and put one in the fridge

French toast and bacon.

Family of 6 and I put a ton of vanilla extract in my French toast batter, so I tried switching to imitation vanilla [beaver (the mammal) skene] at 1/20th the price of the real stuff.

Not even close.

Steel Cut Oats this morning.

2 cups of steel cut oats, 6 cups of water, 3 apples chopped up, 1 TBSp of molasses, and cinnamon and vanilla to taste, then cooked for 10 minutes at pressure in the instant pot. Serves enough for my family of 3 for about 2-3 days.

Until I got to the last part I was going to be super impressed at your intestinal fortitude.

I am jealous.

Currently eating the "cutting to 72kg special" every day except Sunday, which is bacon and eggs day.

50cottage cheese, mashed to get rid of lumps. Add 15g unflavoured whey, mash until hydrated. Add 30-50g mashed pumpkin or yam (optional), some cinnamon, 1 whole egg, 1Tbsp flour and pinch of baking powder. Fry on non-stick pan with oil spray. Top with blueberries heated in microwave to make a mushy syrup, and a light cream cheese or peanut butter powder reconstituted with water.

Makes 3 medium pancakes, moist and fluffy. 31p/30c/9f 315cal

My standard ‘staying around 70kg’ breakfast. Which is 40g oats with some frozen strawberries, cocoa and skim milk; a tub of fat free greek yoghurt and a couple of coffees for good measure.

Currently: 3 gargantuan eggs, 2 sawsages, 1 belgium waffle topped with greek yogurt, berrries, and syrup on top paired with 400 mls of Chemex covfefe and a grande glass of milk. Keeps me motivated to snooze less.

Some frozen berries, 1/2 cup steel cut oats, splash of maple surple.
3 eggs, 3 chicken sausages, handful of peppers and onions on a tortilla (shared a bit of this with the kid, who started bawling when it was all gone, fun)
12oz whole milk & scoop of whey isolate

Damn that sounds good.

I could easily eat that every day but it must be like 1000kcal. That’s almost half my daily food. Dunno how you buggers get away with such big breakfasts.

I've officially given up on preparing my own oats and adopted baller status of buying the "Powerful" or whatever instant oatmeal cups for work. Got to the point where I would just stand in my kitchen contemplating my own existence on prep day when it came to the oats... probably not as "good" macro wise to what I was making but I finally have some decent flavor. Working my way up to the peanut butter/honey one, where I am hoping a chorus of angels will descend from the heavens when I peel off the lid...
