Mixing your own...

What's a carb? A car part? What's a macro? A type of camera lens?

Mixing your own...

Bulk Supplements sold on Amazon are pretty cheap. Using geometric dilution to mix powders, it does not take all that long to mix up 30-60 servings of your favorite pre-workout. Example:

B6 (pyridoxine Hcl)100g$21.81
BCAA 2:1:11000g$31.96
Citrulline Malate 2:1500g$19.96
Beta Alanine250g$13.26
Creatine Monohydrate1000g$17.06
Calcium HMB Monohydrate250g$19.91
Betaine anhydrous250g$11.96
Sodum Chloride250g$0.00
Total:$135.92
B6 (pyridoxine Hcl)0.064mg$0.000014
BCAA 2:1:18000mg$0.256
Citrulline Malate 2:14000mg$0.160
Beta Alanine3200mg$0.170
Creatine Monohydrate2500mg$0.043
Calcium HMB Monohydrate1500mg$0.119
Betaine anhydrous1000mg$0.048
Sodum Chloride800mg$0.000
Total:$0.80 / dose

Is it worth doing? From a cost standpoint, it depends on how much you value the time it takes to mix up a batch every month or so. If you have a supplement mix that you like, but wish were a little different, this might be worth trying. A squirt of MiO does a pretty good job at masking the most heinous of concoctions.

I buy my 90% pure isolate from them.
20kilo bag right from the manufacturer.

I think i'll stay with the micronized creatine i get from them as well.
Don't want to risk the gastric issues some people report with non micronized. It's not expensive. I get a kilo bag.

Those two, and a little MCT oil, raw cacao powder and maybe some other things is my midday meal on workout days.
Usually after bench and before squats.

I make my own pre-workout.. but it's only creatine, beta alanine (hey, i like the tingles), and a flavor mix (Like propel packets or those Mio flavoring). I take 200mg caffeine pill with that and I'm good to go. I LOVE being able to flavor it how I like and it's a pretty cheap overall mix.

I always thought of creatine and beta-alanine as everyday supps, since they need to saturate and keep saturated to work properly.

Yeah I take those every day, I just don't do the caffeine if I'm not lifting. I may try to quit the 200mg caffeine soon and see how I respond.
