Which is why I am vaguely surprised we've never seen a Kipping Press used for a log before.
By kipping you mean with leg drive I would think?
Before Bobby Thompson recently broke it Kearney had the American record and used a split jerk...
Anyway, I maintain that I'm more impressed by Biby failing the clean like 3 times before actually pressing it. Only because if I blow a clean on an axle it's just not happening for me lol...

That was a little nuts. Not just that he got that many attempts, but that he actually got it after that many attempts. Loz said that all the athletes had gone back to the warmup area because they thought it wasn't going to happen, so they didn't see it.

Referencing one of the joking references to the Olympic style press I've seen bandied by the good Exodus crew. It actually makes sense to me to use that style of slump-into-push and then layback with an object that isn't really going to neatly stay in your centerline anyways. And given the spirit of Strongman, surprisingly seems appropriate in the same spirit as a bent press.
And yeah, Biby summoning the.. something to actually get a clean that worked is nuts.

Worked the Orange Elite + USS u82.5/u105 World Championship show today...
I'm more tired than if I competed...
But I got front row for the new u82.5 national silver dollar record... <82.5kg pulling 950 lbs... pretty wild...
Smashed my middle finger loading it and had an overzealous duck walker drop 275 on my foot... perilous... but fun...
That's a crazy pull for any weight class, for that one it's amazing.
The silver dollar had some... odd outcomes...
We had an 800 pull in Open 220, Masters, and NOVICE HW... but 750 won the Open 242/275s lol
Our resident LW open guy for the area I heard weighed in around 151 lbs and wound up hitting 750... bananas...
I believe the Daglish twins in England both silver dollar over 900 at u80kg. Great deadlifters with long arms who aren’t too tall and use figure 8s. Perfect storm.

The Arnold is calling its max squat event "The Heavy Squat Using a Barbell"
No fucking joke
I do, and don't like that. If it's just a bar and plates, I don't care too much for that. I prefer it is not Powerlifting with slightly different rules. Events like that favour the guys that were PLers too much, even if it is probably no different in the end than using Flintstones or giant metal barrels or whatever.

If the problem was 'max deadlift is boring and played out'... max squat is not the frickin answer...
The squat in strongman should almost always be for reps and it is best when it's contested with some sort of giant machine loaded with crazy objects like people...

Exactly. There will probably be dozens if not hundreds of Crossfit chicks in yoga pants running around the place, fill a basket. Like when they used Playboy Bunnies back in the day. Maybe they could use Figure and Bikini competitors instead. I dunno, just spitballing here.

LOL I forgot about this and while I'm glad Rogue got to pimp their fancy bar by changing it to the "Double T Bar Squat" or whatever, I'm kinda bummed we didn't go with the original announcement...
I wonder if Rogue will ever actually bring that to market. Looked like a super nicely knurled axle diameter Buffalo bar that while I could never afford normally would be pretty sweet to have...

As a total noob, what does Double T Bar Squat mean? It just looked like a thick buffalo bar.

WSM 2022 is about to go down and it would seem Mark Boyd has finally come forward with his evidence of corruption that he eluded to earlier...
There has been collusion like this since Kazmaier and Capes.
Hell even local shows will host events that athletes from their gyms are highly proficient in. Isn't this pretty standard?
