getting there. alerady feels more open and sunny.damufunman wrote:+1 Nice job! That looks like an awesome place to lift.
though was like 100 degrees today. I didn't upload all the pictures of me dripping sweat all over the platform.
Once I get plywood on the walls I'm going to want a bar holder and some storage stuff to hang and maybe a whiteboard /chalkboard for prs.
and chalk bowl/stand.
oh so nice to be able to do chin/pull ups all the way!

Nice. I look forward to being able to say that.Idlehands wrote:
The platform however is dead level, with no bounce.

I fucked up. Meant to prime the inside of the plywood with a vapor barrier. Whoops. anyone know of a stain/poly that can be used as a vapor barrier?

I don't think you want a vapor barrier on the inside? Any moisture that gets through whatever you have on the outside could get trapped between the barrier on the inside face of the wood and the outside face of the outside of the shed. I think? I tried looking up stuff about airflow and moisture when I was putting insulation in the ceiling of my garage, and there was some conflicting and confusing information out there.

It has character, but it's a bit messy. Leaves, rocks, dust, scattered plates. The great outdoors (kinda). We'll be moving house in a few months and the thought of saying goodbye to the Mayan lifting ruins makes me a bit sad. I will not miss the awkward bar loading position - have to stand facing perpendicular to the sleeve and extend the weight out in front of you to slide it on. Goddamn post support rods. Spose it's extra shoulder work though.

What climate are you in?
It's complicated.

I'm still trying to figure some things out for my garage ceiling.
You have foam insulation, I take it, but those studs will still be thermal bridges. Ideally, you could put a layer of rigid foam over that and seal the gaps. Then you wouldn't have to worry much about moisture getting behind the plywood and condensing.

My dungeon
Rogue rack, and stuff
York Legacy Round Heads 5 to 55
My wall of stuff

Main training partners, makes an old man feel safe. Mostly an illusion I'm sure.
Two additional training partners, one keeps track of times between sets and plays music. The other just gets in the way but I let him hang around.
Not pictured ETF Yoke Bar, who was sent to the corner when I decide to continue the battle against my senior citizen flexibility.
The total value of equipment far exceeds my ability to lift. One of the few advantages of being old, disposal income typically goes up.

Nice! I like that you have a crapper next to the rack. I need to go up two (!) flights of stairs for that. My wife wants me to take off my shoes, so I usually train when she's not home. (actually, I just get home before her, but that helps) Wish I didn't have to go up stairs after squatting, but can't complain too much.

Re: Home Gym: Show Me Yours, I'll Show You Mine
Really funny story about that. There was a huge enclosure that the previous owner built around that. Four or five feet from the wall and over 6 foot long. It ate up a ton of needless space. So, I would wait to my wife went shopping and would put all a reciprocating saw. A few trips shopping and it was gone. She was pissed, now mind you we/she have never used that toilet in 10 years and she never goes into the basement. I’ll get around to pulling it out someday but I’m afraid she’ll toss daggers at me if I do.damufunman wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:14 am

Instead of wasting precious leg strength on stairs, I pee into the utility sink in my basement, then turn the faucet on long enough for the lift pump to cycle. I mean, after that much coffee, protein shake, and preworkout, it's basically just warm water coming out, right?damufunman wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:14 amNice!
