Hahahaha... oh you're serious..

For now and in the past I survive off an obscene amount of caffeine... there's surely more factors at play than just the carbs. I sleep like ass, long shifts, when I'm not at work I'm working to get these rooms ready for another kid, etc. Example, I have learned it is a poor idea the day after all that quad volume to lay a floor in a moderately sized bedroom... I've been super productive but at the expense of being able to quickly leave a seated position...

The needle moved a bit today, not a ton, but a bit and I guess that's not nothing. Not trying to think like a fitfluencer but I feel like last time I did this was under easier circumstances and maybe all this stress and ass-quality sleep is actually having some sort of detrimental effect...

I spend all day feeling hungry and yet... fat...

Edit: oh, on a lighter note I splurged on that Skil jobsite saw... I love it holy shit. How did I live without a rack and pinion fence?

Sleep is likely the biggest factor, honestly. If I don't sleep I actually gain on the scale until I get a couple solid nights of sleep. It's bloat/inflammation that you aren't getting rid of because you aren't unconscious long enough. It will eventually just drop off in a big chunk, eventually. I did a cut from 285 to a 105kg weigh in over 4 months. It sucked. I lived on tuna with balsamic vinegar or hot sauce and no carb whey protein, while running a snack cake distributorship. Did I mention it sucked?

It sounds so much better to call it intermittent fasting instead of gets busy and forgets to eat or drink water... I don't know why my brain does that but once I get going it's very easy to unhydrate and starve...

Eh, gonna go dark here for a little bit, to the surprise of no one I'm throwing my weight (no pun intended) behind finishing these rooms before this kid gets here...

Should be wrapped up in a week or so and then I can get back to some kind of normal training. When I'm in project mode my head just isn't in it...

A note:

On paper, buying two of the same TV as part of this upgrade/remodel was an awesome idea because each of the kids has the same set up, less to bicker over, etc.

Unnnnnnntil the 'smart' tv's come with dumb remotes that cross talk and control each other at the same time.

$50 later I now have *checks notes* FIVE remotes in THREE different models. (I should have known this was coming when one of the TVs came with two remotes tossed in hahaha)

Edit: a secondary note:

I got to try the famed Costco chicken bake today. Obviously shouldn't be in my diet but my wife and mother in law went out there and I wasnt gonna not give it a try in the name of massenomics

Squat
320x5, 350x5, 370x5

Bench
225x5, 250x5, 275x5, 290x5

EZ Bar Curl
55x12x3

K I'm back...

Probably for at least a couple weeks until a *no pun intended* small interruption shows up...

Cross your fingers for my garage tomorrow. We got dumped on all weekend, then yesterday and today we're pretty cold with 50's expected tomorrow. Usually this means I'm vac'ing up water. Hence the Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday this week... I swear it wasn't just laziness...

2/22/2024

Deadlift
225x5x3 (whoa)

Press
185x5, 195x5, 200x5

SLDL
315x6, 345x6, 365x6

Hammer Curl
25x15x3

Have I EVER called it on deads like that? Normally after a week of nothing I have some soreness after squatting, as is the case today, but dude... breaking a conventional from the floor was like my adductors wanted to tear in half. Thought maybe I just needed a few extra reps, nah, no improvement.

I had a hunch stiff legs would be good to go (above the knees felt fine) and I was right, so that tweaks my scheme a bit but I'll revisit deads in a couple days and then next week will likely go as planned...

190x8, 200x5

EZ Bar Curl (6 second rests)
55x15, 5, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2

Next week will be more balanced, I should just be glad I ran into a snag building this thing for the kids room and ran out of excuses lol

Deadlift

Incline Bench
210x8, 220x8, 230x7*

DB Hammer Curl
25x15x3

Small change up

*this is on purpose, Saturday was way too easy so I bumped the weight/reps, felt a good pump start, and then kept bumping until I found a nice sticky point. Next week get all the reps, then bump, rinse repeat until jacked, but*

Last ultrasound wasn't what we'd hoped for. She's carrying a lot of extra amniotic fluid, more than her previous pregnancies. She's officially high risk or whatever you want to call it. So lots of monitoring over the next week and the docs are gonna induce her next Thursday...

Fingers crossed we will have a tiny terror Friday with no BS complications...

Best of luck @mouse. Hoping all goes well for you; it's a nerve-wracking time, but so special, too.
