Need to work the reps up on the sandbag work in carrying it but I was seriously under the gun today and it's been so long that it doesn't feel natural yet. Not getting that good pop to the lap like I used to have.
Not gonna lie, I was pretty apprehensive about the sandbag today. Obviously I still have some mental stuff when it comes to the shoulder and bicep. I mean it held up and felt fine, but getting that first pick off the floor was a little nerve wracking.

Were 7 weeks out now and that's right around 90% of contest weight for the deadlift. Probably had another 2 reps or so in there, but again, not trying to kill myself and I'm going to where I feel comfortable with my shoulder. My frame is pretty wide so I tend to really feel it, but so far we're holding together hahaha...

Couple changes this week, multigrip bar OUT... regular bar IN for bench. The MG bar (at least on the wide handles) is causing or exacerbating some weird shit in my upper back between my shoulder blades. I don't want to train the close handles right now so I swapped back and was able to add a little weight.
Also I stood up for my overhead work today to add some weight, but with patient strict reps, paused at the bottom and held at the top, working on keeping them nice and stable.

The 445 Zercher was about 45 ft or so, the 500 was probably 25-30 tops lol. How the fuck did I do this so quick for like 60ft years ago? Log on the other hand felt top notch. I feel like I could have gotten a triple out of 265 if I wanted to fight for it but my knees have been a little pissed and the second felt just a bit off balance so I didn't push.

I'm not far enough out for a deload but I'm starting to carry a bit too much fatigue at the moment. My quads and lats are starting to feel beat up. Going up to comp weight was always the plan but cut the overall volume to 3x3, and then added a set of squats to compensate a little. Nixed the rows to (again) rest the lats a little and see if that frees up some reserves.
700 is a mixed bag, only expected one rep, but got a double that felt slow and I didn't want to push into 3+ yet. Video showed they actually moved really well. Might just be in my head that I don't want to fall apart. I suspect this will be VERY hard to win (or even do well in) come contest day.

Yo, my knee is fucking hurting. Sore all morning on the inside of my leg feeling just adjacent to the knee cap. Stiffens up if I sit around and then gets better with motion.
This will assuredly bite me in the ass but I skipped sandbag work and counted my blessings that I can viper press the log with no bullshit. Didnt push the log heavy, just did a couple simulated 'ladders' (a fast double, load the 10's and another fast double and focused on really ripping them from the floor in a fast fluid press...
Half and half on the bench is an idea I wanted to play with for a later date... 5 half reps off the chest and 5 full reps at lightish weight... I dunno... not sold.
Hair up my ass and I finally got brave enough to try chin ups for the first time since surgery and surprised myself that I can do them relatively OKish
And I'm a little off because I'm pulling OT on Fridays now...
