Search for short words

I'd like to be able to search for some short or common words. For example, the board won't let me search for bbm. Some other boards either have a whitelist or allow you to get to four characters by adding quotes or a wildcard character.

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: bbm.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 4 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

For general searches, I could use google to search the site, but that doesn't help if I just want to search thread titles or find something within a thread.

We had problems in the past with the search index getting too big and as a consequence phpbb using too much CPU. This problem would only get worse if we'd allow short search words.

I tried to use google to search inside a thread, but no dice. I think it is impossible due to the way the URLs are structured as GET requests rather than using a nice REST API.

Hah, I found a way to search in a topic using google:

To search in the Montana Method thread get the t=??? from the url and then search google using this:

site:exodus-strength.com inurl:"t=1456" rpe

and click "repeat the search with the omitted results included." at the bottom. This should result in this.

Not sure how reliable that is, though. If it works fine, I'll add it to the template, such that a google topic search box appears for every topic (just like the built in one, but for google).

I added a "Google this topic ..." search box next to the "Search this topic ..." search box. Seems to work fine. Let me know if there are any issues.

ETA: Obviously doesn't work in the porn section shitposting forum which is hidden from google. I found this out because I tried to search the posting 101 thread for skene and it didn't show any results

To search for thread titles you can add "intitle:???" to the search query at the top right corner as in

intitle:Montana

If your using google directly search for "site:exodus-strength.com intitle:Montana"

Those all work nicely, at least in what I've tried so far.

Since those work, it doesn't really matter, but out of curiosity, would it be a hassle to whitelist specific words? The only search I've had an issue with is "bbm".
