Saw the lifts on IG yesterday. So he's 42kg off of Andrey's ATWR of 1142kg?

And supposedly he only trained 5 weeks for this according to his IG. Also said he wants to do another meet in 2019...

His wraps looked sort of short, maybe 2 or 2.5 meter. I was really impressed that they had solid judging and didn't favor him even though it was his meet. :-)

And if he would have hit his top squat and deadlift, he would've totaled 1140 (460/250/430).

Squat was close too. Records have been broken with far higher squats. If only for his poverty bench...and what all of us would give to have a poverty bench measured by the quarter ton.

Is that Aussie dollars or US? If it is Aussie, that is only $420 USD. Not much more than the world class coaching in Austin.

Speaking of strongmen in powerlifting, Brian Shaw would be fun to see. He did an easy 500x5 bench close grip with only 4 warm up sets.

It's Aussie dollars. The main problem is that I'm not a world class athlete, I'm just some schmuck so it seems like a poor investment

Hafthor said he plans to pull something crazy in march. That would be at the Arnold Classic, first event is the Elephant Bar Deadlift.

He should be competing at USSF nationals. :-) I've seen him in a few strongman competitions, he is definitely an up and comer. I'm not sure how often he gets to practice on the strongman implements, but he is just brutally strong.

Yes, yes, yes...but when is his Brother going to defeat him in single combat? And does he even need to at this point?
