Who is on a cut?

What's a carb? A car part? What's a macro? A type of camera lens?

I forget, how have your lifts tolerated this?

Ah, man, thanks for saying so.

DOTS should see good improvement in March.
That's the plan anyway.

Jeez, @Wilhelm. That side shot is really doing it for me.

You gotta shave it all though. Just once.

Called it a couple days early. Just shy of 12 weeks, down 15lbs to <168. I didn’t measure my waist pre-cut but I’m about a hole and a half smaller on my pants belt. I learned a lot during this cut; still a mind-fuck to watch the scale bounce around daily, but I feel good. Big test will be maintaining some semblance of sanity over my intake during the holidays, but I think my focus on real foods over this cut has given me the tools to manage. IIFYM doesn’t work as well for me nowadays.

Feels like a good time to update, being just after Thanksgiving and all. My 7-day average is at 188.6lbs/85.55kg.
Meh. December was essentially a wash. My 7-day average is 187.3, but I was 185.8 this morning.

Ok, it's serious mode. 3 healthy appropriately sized meals a day, no snacks. Aiming for 200g protein, 1.5k cals/day, but trying to mostly do it via meal construction and planning vs measuring. Too fucking fat. Jan 1 I was 235. Middle of Nov I was sub220. Eeessshhh

Been feeling like it since the last back re tweak Nov 22nd
Much better the last week or so.
Shoulder doing much better too.

All the re tweaks were entirely avoidable.
I have made adjustments to my mindfulness now, and i think i've learned my lesson.
Just starting the final cycles for bench and DL after doing short rehabby stretches with both.
Squat continues from a lighter reset as well.
Feeling somewhat optimistic for a good result at the march 23rd meet.

I've bumped up to 2k calories a day now, and that should allow me to drift slowly lower than 75kg while not starving me as much.
It's about 12 calories per lb bw now
Done dieting hard and need to focus on being mostly well fed and moving into the heavier phases of the lifts.
Still want to weigh in as light as possible, but the 1,500 calorie weeks are done now.
Was getting light headed when standing up, and had one squat session where everything felt way heavier than it should have.

Actually feeling pretty good now.

About a week later, my 7-day average dipped below 185. I'm not sure what happened, but I'll take it. I'm at 184.7 right now, and my 7-day umbilicus is 34.45 inches.

I'm going to keep it up for a bit longer to see if I can get close to 83kg or an umbilicus less than 34"; regardless, I want to stay around 84kg for quite a while.

Starting to look very soft even with a pump and decent lights.
Weight is around 93-94kg with my waist at 35 inch. First time my biceps hit 15,5 inch. Now i am sad too see those number melt away as the weight go down :(
My plan was to cut in march for the summer. But i would like to be a little bit leaner and than it's better tonstart now than later

@Tommy1507 I respect your ruthless definition of "very soft."

How tall are you? And is your stated bicep measurement relaxed or flexed? Because your arms sure look bigger than 15.5" to me.

@broseph
Maybe very soft was a little bit exaggerated. It's mainly my stomach which is now very noticable in a shirt. This also surprises me at 35 inches. Maybe i just have a weird posture or something.
I am 180 cm/ 5'11'' long and arms are flexed. I also think they don't look too small whcih makes me queszion the size of the rest of my body

75.5kg this morning.

Been doing a razor-thin deficit as my lifts get heavier.
8 1/2 weeks out.
Went up a couple of lbs when i started eating again after the 5 or 6 weeks at 1,500 calories.
I'm doing 2,150 daily now, and will get under 75kg before meet week.
I'll take as low as that will give me before starting the gut cut and other meet week measures to weigh in as light as possible while maintaining my lifts.

Squat is going amazingly well, and it's beginning to look like i will get very close to my best while weighing in over 10kg lighter.
I think deadlift will do well, but it's harder to gauge as i'm doing SSPT all singles, whereas squat i'm progressing my top single in an easy range, and hitting that twice a week, along w/ ascending triples and a heavy (ish) dub.
But i have a much better idea where i'm at because of that.
Last heavy pull is slated to be 205kg, and i'm fairly sure that is in the pocket.
Should be a 2nd attempt, if not better.

I think with the back issues over the last year causing me to be more conservative, i may actually end up better peaked for the meet.
What i've been doing the last few months could well become my new template.

370 DOTS is not out of the question, but last meet was 350, so i need to remember anything 360 and up is a job well done.

1/1 235.3
2/6 218.6

Right now I'm at about 46% of Alone-Efficiency (1 pound per day seems pretty much average weight loss on the show for contenders). Cardio is going... OK, lifting is virtually nonexistent. I'm hoping to lift today, but it's been difficult to balance cardio/lifting/life demands.
I can fit into at least 1 pair of pants that was a hard no in Dec, and have visibly leaned out a bit. B/c of genetics or something I lean out everywhere long before my gut budges an inch which is very annoying.
