Good luck with your enjoying.
When Stevan was commenting on programming constantly but had no log or recorded lifts I wondered wtf he did with his own programming. Interesting to see.

Pretty uninteresting log. Should get more interesting in a few months.

Bw 92.4 acquiring heart disease

press 50x5x3, 47.5x5

db curlz 18x6x2, it's easier to add reps on these. At least when you're doing 8+ reps. Even though going from 16 to 18kg and going from 8 reps to 9 reps represents "equal" increase in performance, I miserably failed to get 8 reps with 18kg. Something something slow twitchy biceps.

squat 107.5x5x2, fixing tempo disease, these are faster than last time in concentric. I think I picked the wrong tshirt for squatting. Can someone recommend me a good squat t shirt?

deadlift 117.5x5, 117.5x2

I gave eleiko training bar to a guy that did T bar rows with it. He stacked like 6 10kg 20cm plates on it. Fuck.

bw 91.1

bench 85x2, 80x4, 75x5, 70x3 pec pain on this last set (wtf?)
chinups 6.25x6x3

Didn't have time for everything.

Bullshit session. Underrecovered and too much non-specific life stress. Will try to make up for it tomorrow.

Any 100% cotton shirt with sleeves. Polyester is slippery, tank tops don't cover your shoulders.

If it is pink and has unicorns on it, you get +10 lbs on your 1RM.

I have few 100% cotton shirts that are very different. Dunno.

bench 85x5x2, fairly easy. Yesterday's 85x2 was possibly RPE 10. This motivates me to rant about RPE and absolute weight on the bar. We'll see.
squat 110x5, single set because I need to be fresh for tomorrow. Moved ok-ish.

Have you tried chalking your back?

Do you film your lifts? Don't have to post them anywhere, but you can catch form creep before it becomes an issue. Perhaps you were vertical off the chest? That makes it tougher quickly.

QFT! I am still struggling with bench form especially pushing backwards off the chest. Vertical or, even worse, floating forwards will absolutely kills upwards drive for me.

bw 91.3

press 50x5, 50x4, 47.5x5x2, Fuck... Last set was @10.
squat 110x5x2
db curlz 18x7, 18x6
deadlift tomorrow

I'm systemically fucked up. I need to pay more attention to eating. Also, roommate woke me up in the middle of the night thinking I was suffocating.

I possibly have sleep apnea along with pretty serious asthma. I have a feeling oxygen is important for recovery :) . I don't want to nocebo myself but I did read this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28642543
...so I should probably visit a doctor.

edit: oh yeah, I don't remember when was the last time I was able to breathe through nose normally. @Austin, unnocebo me.

bw 91.8

press 50x5
deadlift 117.5x4, could've done more but there's another deadlift day in 48 hours.

The whole week was a mess, except monday when I had a great session. It's time for me to pre-plan when I'm going to eat the day before. Eating on-the-go probably screwed this week as I probably didn't reach the protein and calorie goal on most of the days.

If it makes you feel better, I couldn't breathe through my nose normally for years due to a deviated septum, and getting it fixed had no noticeable impact on my recovery.

I record side on to the bar.
My most recent adjustment has been to focus on just a little more elbow tuck. Not at all a drastic amount.
This has been helping me not get the bar out in front at touch.
It's working well for me having elbows slightly in front of the bar (toward feet) at touch.
This had made it easier to get the good bar path off the chest, though there is still a sometimes tendency to flare the elbows to under the bar before the bar leaves the chest, and getting a few inches of vertical rise off the chest.
I've been reducing that though. It's a feel thing. Touch point becomes a little lower too.
I think trusting the technique of keeping the elbows tucked at the beginning of the press is important.
That initial flare is just hurrying, imo.
I think perfect form would be to have the elbows directly under the bar at touch, but i'm not that good, and i can't afford to miss and have the bar get in front of my elbows.
There may be high level benchers who have elbows slightly in front at touch. I haven't studied it that closely, and i don't think the camera angles available from Raw Nats or Worlds allows for that view.

Good luck with your benching, everyone.

It's a risk factor for sleep apnea. I think I overreacted, I probably don't have sleep apnea. Did the surgery completely fix your problem?

----------------------------
10/29/18
bw 92.5

bench 85x5x4, fairly easy
squat 110x5x2, fairly easy
db curlz 18x7, 18x8, went balls deep on this one, not sure why
deadlift 120x5, 120x2, fairly easy, hook grip started slipping because I forgot to re-chalk my hands but I managed to do it.

Mondays... Again great session. Hopefully this week won't be like the week before. Antecedent week. @Hanley, did I get it right?

This is the first time I'm weighing myself intra-workout. There seems to be a correlation between bodyweight and how I feel and perform. For that reason I will weigh myself at the end of the every workout to dodge a potential nocebo. Did anyone else notice this correlation?

-----------------------
First time in my life I saw a 4 plate bench press. It was done for 3 reps @ RPE 11.5. His partner helped him on every single set to get the last 1-2 reps. One more anecdotal evidence to suggest that proximity to failure may not be a significant variable in one's training compared to other ones. Or at least not as significant as presented in these circles. Probably a good topic for a rant.

Also, there's a "suicide grip" culture in my gym. Strange.

He’s being too obtuse to even use the term properly. He was banned, but all of his posts remain.

He seems to have a vested interest in people being 'as bad' as each other. May he find peace.

What was the straw that broke the camel's back?
