Squats went 305/325/345

Bench is warmed up. I think they turned the gravity down in Newark.

You peaked properly, at least for squat. That turns the gravity down too.

Just got in.
Pretty tired and I have dad stuff to attend to, but

I went 9/9
305/325/345
235/250/260
405/425/445 in pounds for a 1050 total

Came in 1st out of a field of 1 for Masters 198 raw classic
I wasn’t the weakest person at the meet.
I interfaced with humans successfully.

Squats
Most people walked out their squats from the monolift
1st attempt flew up - my last warmup was a paused double at 290 cuz squat bar math
2nd attempt also flew up
3rd attempt should have been red lighted because I started my walk out after I got the squat command. But... 3 whites ...

Bench
1st attempt flew up
2nd attempt my arms were shaking. Had a bad setup, I guess. But the bar moved enough for another 10 pound jump.
3rd attempt felt better, but moved slower. I maybe had another 5, but not 10.

Deadlift
- my wife and kids showed up for the deadlifts!
1st attempt felt waaaay too heavy. I might have been set up too far past midfoot.
2nd attemp moved quickly. The head judge was talking with somebody next to her. She said "I have so many questions..."
I responded "I have answers!" gripped and ripped.
3rd attempt moved ok. I got about 10 steps away from the bar, then just aimed my body at the closest chair. Spotter dude caught me. Thanks spotter dude!

Could I have lifted more? Probably? Definitely?
But now i have a reason to do it again. Maybe next year.

ETA. RPS runs a great meet. Very family friendly. Alex (dude in the kilt running the meet) saw me getting my girls to pose with the deadlift bar at the warm up area and stripped it and had the girls pull it. Starting em young.

I greyed out on my 3rd deadlift attempt.
That sounds like a very good day. Nice work.

202.5/200.4 thus endeth cake weekend exercises… back on track tomorrow

Nice little hike with the daughters. Got to destination and back with no drama. Well except my left knee was feeling a little weird…

Uhoh-mill
.7 miles in 9 minutes
Pulled the plug because the knee was starting to feel wonky. Let’s start the new block!

Bench
115x4x uh oh…
Weird pull in a lat insertion?
Strip to the bar
45x20 still there
65x15 uhhh
85x15 yeah let’s not push it
Hopefully getting some blood into it helps.

Let’s try the treadmill again
Really slow-mill 5:1
2.4 miles in 34 minutes

Tomorrow I’m gonna start the new program.
If my body disagrees we’ll work out a compromise, but I’m gonna assume water, Alleve, and sleep will take care of whatever this is.

Dude. You just had a meet.

Give your body a break and spend a few weeks rebuilding work capacity. Don't even touch a barbell for a little.

It'll do you good.

Congrats on the meet. Maybe take a little time before jumping right into the new program, especially if you have a few issues with knee and lat?

202.7/200.7

Gonna try my hand at some 531 stuff

First up - BBB

BBB 1.1.1
Bench (back to the land of TnG)
(45,65,95,125,160,185,210)x5 lotsa warmup sets

(Chins warmup bw x5)
CGBP 135x10x5
—ss w/
Weighted chins
+35x5,5,5,4,3+2+1
BBB done in 13:51

Jogmill 6:1
2.1 miles in 27 minutes

Time 62 minutes

Keeping it easy for now. I’ll add more stuff as I go, but I didn’t really stop except for 2 minutes before the last bench set and 30 seconds here and there during the BBB

6 week BBB goals
- get more comfortable doing 10s especially in the lower body lifts
-switch to high bar for mains and SSB for BBB to let my elbows heal
- 250x5 would be a small bench pr and I would be like 35-40 pounds lighter. That would be some progress right there.
- gonna keep the chin-up weight the same weight, since I’m pushing bench
-slowing the cut back down to manageable rates.

Currently buying a new (to me) car. Should have worn my HRM and logged as cardio. I don’t have the work capacity for this.
