Started messing with towel pull-ups recently, and man is that embarrassing.
If you had five sets of 11 with the 1 then you were super close to closing the 2.
You gotta go back and get it!!!!

I was the same way. The first CoC I got was the 1.5, and I was eventually able to close it but with considerable pain in my knuckles and a weird pinch between my pinky and ring-finger that would linger for weeks.

I picked up a 1.0 to try and warm-up for the 1.5, but it wasn't enough. I had given up on CoC stuff at that point.

I decided to pick it up again about six months ago, so I picked up a guide, sport, trainer, 0.5, and a 2.0.

It let's me get plenty of easier reps with progressive resistance before working with the 1.0 and 1.5, and also let's me do lighter reps on my between-days.

Zero pain. I do grip stuff all the time now; block and plate pinches, rolling thunder, wrist level bars, etc., without any discomfort.

IIRC I wasn't actually close. I fit the SS "female lifters can perform more reps closer to their 1RM" steryotype.

Granted, his hand compared to my own...

My fiancee's dad is a big guy and a mechanic who owned a garage. The whole family love to tell stories about him doing things like taking nuts off barehanded when an impact wrench wouldn't budge them. He's got the strongest handshake I've ever seen and it's not him doing that thing some guys do where they try to show you they're the boss by crushing your hand.

If only he had gotten his deadlift to 500, he'd be more useful and harder to kill.

Training has been... meh. All the coughing at night and junk has been making things difficult.

I know he did some barbell stuff back in the day although don't know the details. He's had a bunch of health problems over the past couple years and if he wasn't a big strong guy he'd probably be dead. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if he could still pull 405 DOH though.

I had a cold that lasted a couple weeks and I'm still horking up snot all day. It sucks. This is the time of year that I often take a month off training due to illness and lose all my gains. Have been staying at it and "autoregulating" and although I don't feel like I've made much progress since mid-December I also don't think I've regressed. So I'll take that as a win.

I got the coughing and sinus crap going on too. I've been sleeping horribly because of it. I'm finally feeling a little better today.

I'm feeling alright, but the cumulative effect of 6+ weeks of broken sleep hasn't been great.

4 hours sleep, but that's about right on a rest day having slept 7 to 8 the two nights prior.
Felt rested for lifting today.

Everything seems to be proceeding apace.

Crappy with scheduling issues up to my meet last weekend. Wife is starting a new job, baby is starting daycare, and I'll be picking up in the afternoon since I get in to work early and wife later, so not expecting stellar training for the next month? or so... Good time for weight cut! Hopefully not too much muscle is lost.

Drop off is way harder. Especially the first week.
Then it's fine until they start figuring out what is happening, then it is miserable again.

Yeah I dont' envy my wife for that... Planning on half day the first week, during which I'll likely work from home, and then maybe take a day or two at home the following week when full days start to help wife manage anxiety.

The JTS AI is trying to kill me, but I think it will be good in the long run.

If someone can close the CoC #3, would they be able to crush someone's skull? I can only close the #2, but I'd work toward the #3 if I could gain this power.

. . .

I guess not. It takes over 500 pounds. That's like a CoC #6

oh, right,

training, yeah

I think I fixed my knee with a few weeks of light slow eccentrics.
We'll see if it stays that way in the coming weeks.
