@Wilhelm, what an awesome grind! Your bench progress has been spectacular on your current programming. Patience and weighted dips make for a big bench!

Might have just been the angle @Wilhelm but that looked like a pause to me. Congratulations!

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
The bar looks like it paused but you can see the movement in his elbow, flaring/pushing too quick for an actual pause despite that it didn’t translate to the bar right away… but fuck, @Wilhelm, I think it’s pretty clear that you could have had it with a pause. Awesome grind.GrainsAndGains wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 8:33 am Might have just been the angle @Wilhelm but that looked like a pause to me. Congratulations!

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Thanks, @DCR and @GrainsAndGains : )
Yeah, it rebounded off my chest, and then i "halted", but it was never "motionless on my chest"
Never would have gotten the press command.
Especially when you consider the head ref has to see it motionless on the chest, then actually speak the command.
Close, and i'm stoked i pressed it.
Next three weeks heavy days drop back down to start, 259 lb/117.5kg this saturday, and the next week 265lb/120kg which is a solid 2nd attempt at this point, and was my initial goal for this meet, then this weight again the last week.
122.5kg should be my 3rd, so i'll keep on the dips and work my pauses building back up to this again.
At this point i think it's 110kg opener, 120kg 2nd, 122.5kg 3rd

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Hey, just wrapped up a new bench press PR as part of session 11 of Hanley’s 3 week general strength Montana method template.
230 lbs
Felt good going into the session. The gym bench sucked majorly for leg drive, it’s so slippery compared to my Rogue adjustable bench. Solved the slippery feel by tying my sweater around it. It felt way heavy in my hands and I was kind of freaking out during the lift but I did it! The video makes it seem way easier than it felt.

Hey,
Back again! I got a new bench PR of 235 lbs! Warning for the headphone peeps, there is loud grunting!
This was done during session 11 of my second run of the 3 week Montana Method template.
I'm expecting more to come for the other lifts later this week and next week.

That was textbook-smooth. Prolly could've hit 245 easily.Famendoza1981 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 4:26 pm Hey,

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Yeah. I think I'd plug 240 or 245 into the e1rm cell in the spreadsheet for the next cycle.Renascent wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 7:55 pmProlly could've hit 245 easily.Famendoza1981 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 29, 2022 4:26 pm Hey,

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Thanks for looking at this! I think I will be setting the bench press e1rm to 240 for the next run of this cycle. It’ll be interesting for me to see if I reach the 245 mark.

New all time deadlift PR!!! 415 lbs which is a 10 lbs PR from late January.
This was done as part of session 12 of my 2nd run of The 3 week Montana method. The sputtering noises I’m making are involuntary I swear.

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
Today was PR day!! Many thanks to @Hanley for giving me his blessing on this option.
Press first at 165 lbs (new all time best), quite a grinder through the sticking point.
Squat next and last at 340 lbs (matches all time best low bar squat).
I only do high bar now and having it be my best squat is awesome. While loading, I was mentally going back and forth between doing this and 345 lbs. I guess I wanted an all time deal bar none with 345, but I decided to keep it to high bar all time best. I’ll tackle more all time bests soon enough.

Re: PR THREAD OF AWESOMENESS!!!
@Famendoza1981 Nicely done! Hell of a grind on that press.
240 Bench, tng. Lifetime PR. After a lot of feedback from people I have been tweaking my bench form, tightness, not being shit, pulling the bar apart and doing occasional overload work with slingshot so heavy benches don't feel so "ohh shit gonna dieeee". Workout felt really easy today on bench, stuff was flying off my chest so did 225 to see how it felt. 225 was a bit of a grinder to lockout but everything else was snappy. Tossed 235 on, repeated old lifetime PR with a smooth up all the way to lockout. 5 more on, got about 2/3rds of the way up and realized all I had to do was stay tight and push. 240 up. I don't remember when I hit 235, it might have been pre-kid, sooooo this feels good.
