What is the story with your back? I have a fused spine, every vertebrae other than L3-L5, from scoliosis surgery as a kid. Herniated the disks a couple times down there before I started powerlifting. Haven't had any problems since then though.

Old L5 compression fracture from osteoporosis, due to some weird stuff. Disks are jacked all in my lumbar spine. That combined with a right shoulder that had been ripped apart, and now has chronic bursitis and tendinitis. Pain radiates between my right shoulder and spine. Then my back gets out of wack. It was seemingly fine for a while, then got all weird. I’m trying to train it cooperate. A doc and chiropractor have said not to do them, but they’re out of shape too.

Old L5 compression fracture from osteoporosis, due to some weird stuff. Disks are jacked all in my lumbar spine. That combined with a right shoulder that had been ripped apart, and now has chronic bursitis and tendinitis. Pain radiates between my right shoulder and spine with heavier squats. Then my back gets out of wack afterwards. It was seemingly fine for a while, then got all weird. I’m trying to train it cooperate again. A doc and chiropractor have said not to squat, but they’re not any where close to healthy themselves.

Ouch. You might want to do a consult with the BBM guys.

Seeing sports physiotherapist specialist would be great, it’s just not made the top of the list. BBM would be nice too, but probably more expensive than a couple of co-pays.

Meshing bench and dead day, due to a litany of too busy excuses. Mainly, I love being outside this time of year. I’ve non-purposefully dropped 12ish pounds as well since June, and probably needed to maintain weight. I’m just
trying to keep from losing strength until winter hits, and I get serious about lifting again.

Oct 2

Not training and eating right for the past month has had a non-surprising negative outcome. I’m struggling with weights I should easily move.

Baby squats
165: 3x5

Deadlifts
315: 3x3

BB Shrugs
210: 2x20

Oct 3

Continuing the self loathing:
I’m down to 215, the lowest I’ve been since last winter. My strength is obviously suffering. I’m irritated with myself, but will bounce back. At least my BF is down.

OHP
Couldn’t put up 160 3x1 as I should’ve. So I did some volume.
135x3
150x1
135x5
140x3
115x10

CGBP
3 min rest
155: 8, 5, 5

LTE
3 min rest
100: 2x10

Single arm OH triceps extensions
3 min rest
32.5: 2x10

Experimental day.

Baby squats started messing with my back. I need to be done with them, before I really hurt my back again. Cobbled together some “belt squats” with my cheap dip belt, and kettlebell. The max I can load my kettle bell to is 80lbs. So I did 3x8. Easy, but did notice my quads getting some work.

Got some Olympic Rings, and worked them into my routine. Used them as so: Lying flat on the ground with arms straight, pulled chest to rings.

Chins, Rings, Pulls
2 super sets of 8 reps each
60 secs between movements
3 mins between sets

BB Rows
3 min rest
190: 2x10

21 Curls
3 min rests
Set of each @ 37.5
Concentration
Standard DB
Hammer

My diet has been back on point for at least a couple of days.
