Bulk over. A very boozy vacation pushed me from the high 213s to my target of 215, and I plan to hover there for 6+ weeks.

Probably going to give this approach a try.
Oat milk though

**Turned out as a complete win.
Just did 1 cup cooked white rice in the blender with 1/2 cup vanilla oat milk, little water, 2 Tbsp peanut butter.
Mixed my whey and lysine and magnesium in the usual jar w/ screw top lid, and poured the rice puree in.

This is the path forward for my rice consuumption.

So yeah, rice smoothies are a mainstay now.

2 cups cooked rice, some peanut butter, and either water or oat milk.
Glycine sweetens it a bit.
Easy 700 calories, did 2 today.

As far as switching over to carbs, no one can accuse me of doing things halfway.

You’re drinking 4 cups of rice a day?

4 today.
Didn't feel like shoveling rotini in my face.
2 to 3 most days though.

The volume of food it takes on a non keto diet to get 3,700 calories a day isn't fun.
And i'm not even gaining very fast on that.

I’m literally shoveling rotini in my face right now, with chicken cacciatore.

I think it is so much fun… but we can agree to disagree.

I'm in the middle of a bulk at about 197.5 lbs. I think I'm going to let my waistline determine when I stop. The plan is to stop at 36" and then cut back to 33". I think I'm finally accomplishing the elusive slow bulk. Of course, one bad week on vacation can blow that all out of the water.

Well done @JohnHelton - for me (and I think, a lot of us) that's a unicorn :)

I've been gaining weight about six weeks now. Not tracking (because that messes with my head too much) and honestly, don't feel like I've been overeating a ton - certainly not binging like I have in the past.

I'm averaging about 0.75kg gain a week (88.3kg on average at the start, to 92.8kg average this week). Which seems way too fast. But my waist is not blowing up so that's something I guess.

Thanks, @BenM. I have just been looking at my data this morning. I have just recently been able to control the rate of gain. Before that I would hold steady for a few weeks and then have a binge that bumped me up. I think those binges just layered on fat. Since last October when I was down at 33", I have mostly gained fat and very little muscle. That is disappointing. I have one more inch before I hit 36". I'm going to see if I can't be more productive in terms of gaining lean body mass. We'll see. Otherwise, the data would suggest that I should cut to 33" and hang out there. I hate to think that I have reached my limit in terms of LBM, but who knows. I'm not getting younger.

Alek be bulking. I've got a few kilos to fill out the 90 class, so I'm hoping to (mythically, I guess) slow bulk to a bit above that. Then I hope I can easily shed to just below 90 as I go into the meet in November.

Staying at maintenance is like sitting in traffic. It feels more productive to get off the interstate and find another route…even if you don’t get there any faster. I will probably continue to cut and bulk even if it isn’t doing any good because it is more fun than sitting still.

Agreed.

The way I'm thinking about this phase of weight gain is to just eat more good stuff. So rather than jumping onto the snack wagon, I'm trying to eat more yogurt/granola, salads, vegetables, etc. more often than I usually would. I don't feel guilty or like I'm ruining my health that way.

196ish in December when i thought i was going to lift in -90kg after the USAPL classes change.
Up to 204 about early April.
Around 2ish months from 204 to 207 (all morning weights)

I'm anticipating an early November meet, should be then but waiting for the announcement still.
I want to keep very slowly gaining, but also want to cap meet day weight at 97.5kg (for the -100kg class) as i'm kind of extimating that will be a good balance between lifts going up as well as DOTS going up.

Fed and watered midday right now i'm at 95kg.
I always weigh in closer to morning weight though.

Just monitoring progress with the lifts and rate of gain to keep this general goal in mind.
Currently hitting 3,100 to 3,150 calories daily.

Really want a 200kg squat this time.

I have been bulking. IOW: been lazy with my diet, and taking advantage of the situation.

I was down to 204, never could get the last few pounds to fall off to be sub 200.
Now lets just say I'm reversing direction, and sure, I'm getting a little (more) fat.

I might be into 5 weeks of it so far.

Anyways, I let things go, and started doing bodybuilding routine ....more volume, curls, and dedicated tricep stuff, all kinds of delt isos, calves, abs, hack squat machine, leg extensions, etc. I haven't done this type of stuff for so long! Maybe a period of 10 years!

It has been refreshing to completely step away from strength based programs (S/B/D and/or Oly based stuff).
Any contrary to the ideas on these thing in Egypt my joints, soft tissue, etc. feel great.

Oat milk though

**Turned out as a complete win.

Mixed my whey and lysine and magnesium in the usual jar w/ screw top lid, and poured the rice puree in.

This is the path forward for my rice consuumption.
I always thought rice in a smoothie would come out too thick. I'll give this a go tomorrow!

I've been doing 2 cups cooked rice everyday in the midday shake since i posted that.

I also moved to doing my oats in the blender.
It's 90 grams dry before i soak them, and it just got to be such a chore eating them normally every morning.

I used to put oats in my shakes but unfortunately, my digestive system doesn't like oats (or wheat products). I've never liked eating a lot of rice so this could be a useful way of getting more carbs in. I'm very active (over 30000 steps a day) and with training, I'm struggling to get my weight back over 90kg again.

I do still pour boiling water over them the night before.
